WASHINGTON President Trumps lawyers and aides are scouring the professional and political backgrounds of investigators hired by the special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, looking for conflicts of interest they could use to discredit the investigation or even build a case to fire Mr. Mueller or get some members of his team recused, according to three people with knowledge of the research effort.
The search for potential conflicts is wide-ranging. It includes scrutinizing donations to Democratic candidates, investigators past clients and Mr. Muellers relationship with James B. Comey, whose firing as F.B.I. director is part of the special counsels investigation.
The effort to investigate the investigators is another sign of a looming showdown between Mr. Trump and Mr. Mueller, who has assembled a team of high-powered prosecutors and agents to examine whether any of Mr. Trumps advisers aided Russias campaign to disrupt last years presidential election.

We need to start a vigil outside the Whitehouse—hundreds if not thousands of people each day visibly, publicly, watching what they do. It will be nothing but a symbol, for sure, but a powerful one. Every day, each person entering and leaving the Whitehouse being watched by hundreds of citizens who voted for Trump. A vanguard of protection, a reminder of we the people who voted to clean out this corrupt, stinking swamp of privileged corruption.
POTUS Trump should order Jeff Sessions to instruct and order AAG, Rosensrein to fire Mueller today and all his hired staff. If Rosenstein disagree...fire him, too!!! The media & Democrat scum and vermin will go nuts. WHO CARES?
OBunghole appointed countless muslims to key departments. Trump should have fired them all but he hasn’t.
Waiting is the operative word. The demoncrats won't be in any hurry to get that vote.
He is hoping he can have a career after Trump resigns or is impeached.
Mueller has always had his head up muslim backsides.
Mueller was compromised years ago he’s dirty, just look at who he hired.
I think Trump can’t fire him, only AG can. People should outcry the investigation.
Those who say we would look really bad if we fire Mueller are naive. The drivebys are going to make sure we look bad no matter what we do. Might as well do the right thing and get rid of Mueller.
Mueller will have the press on his side no matter what. He will go anywhere he is told to do by the deep state. He needs to be fired. It might be a good thing since the drivebys would then have to talk about that and give up on Russia......
Firing Mueller doesn't get rid of Russia, it amplifies it from an accusation, to a truth that Trump is trying to hide, plus obstruction, etc. It'd be "firing Comey without his transgression, times 1,000."
Mueller and his investigation need to go under the microscope. Rosenstein has to be part of that, mening Roesnstein has to participate in shining daylight on HIS grant of jurisdiction to Mueller. Might be a good time to bring up that SC is warranted ONLY if there is evidence of a crime. That's the 28 USC 600.1 predicate.
Right. They just change “according to an anonymous source” to “three (anonymous) people with knowledge” and we’re now supposed to believe their fake news.
**Really, it’s true. 3 people said so!!!**
Clinton & Bush fired all lawyers in doj office when they took office, but Bush’s Ag was accused for wrong doing & brought to committee hearing,as i recalled.
That shows you Dem & Rep are treated differently.
thanx four your insight
Jared Kushner’s lawyer said Friday that she was stepping back from representing the top White House adviser in the Russia investigation in deference to another member of the administration’s legal team.
Jamie Gorelick, the Washington attorney that has represented Kushner since the transition period, told The National Law Journal that she was removing herself from the probe as she is “wrapping up” her services for the president’s son-in-law.
The appropriate action of an AG to a "nothing-burger" is to end the investigation.
The inappropriate action is to recuse one self and to let the swamp people take over the investigation.
I have not read all the comments (need to go to a Dr. Appt) so forgive me if I repeat a comment with the same information....
Does anyone else remember thisFreerepublic post http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3553461/posts#comment ? Within the article was a screenshot of the decoded encrypted chat room convo which had been hacked by someone called FreshCamel. Within the chat someone suggested that RR (Rod Rosenstein) was dirty and taken care of. The chat also stated Mueller would be appted by RR.
I cannot locate that chat anywhere but specifically remember that tidbit. Prior to that I had mixed feelings about Rosenstein buy trusted Sessions. Now I am sick again from this nonsense.
IMHO, Rosenstein needs to be on the list of those investigated.
That's not a good example. All presidents back to before Reagan fire all of the US Attorneys when they start their first term. Bush got heat for doing that a second time, at the start of his 2nd term, but at the start of his 2nd term. And that round of firings was not across the board. To this day we don't know who ordered them fired, although it looks like the orders to fire came from Karl Rove or somebody else with a political agenda.
As a former CJ instructor, you need to know that truth does not always win out in these investigations. If it did, we wouldn’t have to release those people wrongly convicted after 20-30 years of imprisonment.
The criminal justice system needs an overhaul, because there are just as many deviant, and criminal minds prosecuting, arresting, and providing so called justice, as there are true criminals anymore. Justice must be fought for and constantly overseen to prevent perverted justice.
Backing out will never ingratiate you with the media or the deep state. Trump supporters are scratching their heads while the establishment considers you an idiot to be ruined anyhow.
