That sounds like a good deal.

I work about 2 blocks from the Wal-Mart where that fugitive that shot and killed his pregnant girlfriend shot and killed an Orlando woman cop. He shot and winged her, then walked up and plugged her in the head. In broad daylight. And they knew each other, both black.

A couple of weeks later a guy walks in, gets a bb gun and starts randomly shooting customers, same Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart should have a cop posted in every store.

I’m not going to lie. Walmart is the most convenient place for me to get dinner after work. It’s ready made, I can get ice cream, packaged watermelon slices & I walk out feeling like I saved big time. Their salads are big enough to have for dinner by itself.

WinCo is west coast based. I LOVE THEM! Much better prices for regular groceries than WalMart, with a much better selection. Employee owned, does not take credit cards. It’s only a grocery store, so you can’t get cosmetics, clothes, shoes, gardening supplies, etc., but I do ALL my grocery shopping there. I think the name means Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California and Oregon, but they’ve expanded a little further than just these states in recent years.

want to keep shoppers happy? #1 complaint: put price tags on things.

Just great. My normal relaxed face borders on looking like I’m unhappy, when I am totally contented. Am I going to have to walk around with a fake smile plastered on my face all the time?

They don’t need no fancy-smancy technology to improve customer happiness: start with stocking your damn shelves on Sunday and Monday so they don’t look like a horde from Venezuela snatched everything up.

Or a flash mob of "yutes".

People should wear ski masks when shopping.

Or going to the bank.

GOD Forbid, they should ever do something like this for voters!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

no, please don’t do that.

don’t use it for boarding airline passengers from 6 ME countries

imo, walmart is gearing up for cashless cardless society.

the “smiley face” of walmart’s future will debit customers account at check out stand.

If I’m in a bad mood, having a bunch of Walmart employees pestering me isn’t going to help.

Yep.

* They know ALL SORTs of things about most people. 10 years ago Target got in trouble for knowing women were pregnant BEFORE the women knew (by statistics of their purchases)

* They’ve had touch displays for carts for 10+ years but not deployed except test trials that I know of. Can deliver custom coupons and even change electronic price displays depending on the customer (if they know who the customer is).

* They make TONS of money on in-store ads (more eyeballs/week than the superbowl for TV ads and cardboard displays)

If they know pregnant Sally has on cart 6 and cart 6 is on aisle 4B, the coupons, ads, and prices can adjust “appropriately”. And Sally doesn’t even need to login to her cart any more like the experimental touch display carts.

I have lots of privacy concerns, but this is not one of them. It used to be I expected the owner or employees to know me when I entered a store and treat me as an individual and recognize when I’m happy/disappointed/distressed/etc. And, on the grand scale, this is a pretty trivial addition to the information that’s known about us.

They should have seen my face this morning trying to return cans and bottles. Their damn machine NEVER works right. I always have to have one of the girls come out and shake the cans or hit the reset button.

Today it was rejecting about every third bottle. One 7Up bottle was put through at least a dozen times before it was finally accepted.

I mentioned it to the assistant manager. He said they were trying to get corporate to do something. I doubted it...

One way to turn the smiles upside down is hire employees who are A) legal citizens and B) aren’t affirmative action hires. and C) one’s who can do their job efficiently and competently.

I was a bit shocked to see one of these things in my local podunk town Walmart about 4-6 months ago.
They hung it so low, I nearly bumped my head on it,; had to duck an inch or two.

Later they raised it to about 9 feet from the floor.
I give it ‘the finger’ every time I walk under it. I wonder how their software translates that.
