Shattuck: Cancer doesn’t know what it’s up against in battle with maverick
The Boston Herald ^ | 07-20-17 | Tom Shattuck

His North Vietnamese captors told him he’d never go home.

They beat and tortured him to no end, but the Navy flyer’s patriotism manifested itself in historic defiance, refusing to do the easy thing for his own reward.

He would not accept freedom before other prisoners who’d been there longer than he: It wasn’t the right thing to do, he thought.

Instead, he gave the enemy hell.

Now he has brain cancer.

And he’s 80 years old.

It’s the appropriate time to loudly honor this war hero for his toughness and resolve in combat and captivity, but subsequently during his political career.

He has shown an integrity and individualism that goes unduplicated in modern politics.

Cancer doesn’t respect bravery... and McCain should not be forced to feel he didn’t ‘fight’ hard enough. He’s got an aggressive fast moving cancer - possible caused by cell phone use. He doesn’t need to carry the burden of letting down people who believe in him. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3226506/ “Risks after Prolonged and Heavy Mobile Phone Use” “If exposure to RF fields through mobile phone use were tumorigenic, people using mobile phones longest and those who were the heaviest users would be expected to show the highest risks of brain tumors.”

Skipping to the conclusion of this article....

Conclusions: Although there remains some uncertainty, the trend in the accumulating evidence is increasingly against the hypothesis that mobile phone use can cause brain tumors in adults.

McCain won’t die from this. He’ll make a deal with the devil the result being more Americans dying. It’s his m.o.

“On the other hand, according to one source, McCain’s collaboration may have had very real consequences. Retired Army Colonel Earl Hopper, a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, contends that the information that McCain divulged classified information North Vietnam used to hone their air defense system…McCain told his North Vietnamese captors, “highly classified information, the most important of which was the package routes, which were routes used to bomb North Vietnam. He gave in detail the altitude they were flying, the direction, if they made a turn… he gave them what primary targets the United States was interested in.” Hopper contends that the information McCain provided allowed the North Vietnamese to adjust their air-defenses. As result, Hopper claims, the US lost sixty percent more aircraft and in 1968, “called off the bombing of North Vietnam, because of the information McCain had given to them.”

Not for nothing but Boxer suprisingly retired last year. That bimbo Kamala Harris is now sitting in her seat.

And that is why many call him Traitor.

I notice that the MSM is doing their usual ultra-hype of him, pumping him up, reporting praise from both sides, from all over the world, etc.

This is setting the stage for their plan to meddle with the replacement process.

I don’t see how the cancer makes a difference except for hypocrites.

If you liked McCain and believed his narrative before will the announcement of his cancer change that?

No, of course not.
He is still the same man but now with a terminal disease.

However, If you didn’t like him or had doubts about his narrative do you suddenly reverse your views of 45 years because he is now terminally ill?

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t act in a civil manner - it just means that none of the underlying facts that formed our opinions over the years have changed.

McCain will be fine: he’ll just side with the cancer, as he always does.

Adm James Stockdale says otherwise. In the context of his POW status, the man was stellar.

Maybe. But Obama sure wiped the floor with Maverick when it mattered. And the consequences for the country were dire.

That being said, I wish Senator McCain the best.

Cant. John McCain’s one heroic act was refusal to be released from the hell hole our new friends, the VC held him as a POW. His navy career was tolerated and made possible by nepotism-—father and grandfather distinguished admirals DNA did not passion to last in his class John. Few people loved the cameras more than McCain and I have often considered that his opposition position to his own party was simply an opportunity to gain TV time for the 24 news channels.. Having lost my sister to this exact type of cancer, I know it the end will come swiftly and I wish you fair winds and following seas into your ultimate destiny and thanks for your USN career—your politics, not so much.

That’s debatable. McCain was running even with him until the market tanked. Maybe he would have lost anyway, but his margin of loss probably took some senators along with him, paving the way for this Husseincare quagmire.

the objective of which was to defeat his pick for Vice President

Precisely. McCain can't tolerate anyone whose star burns brighter and clearer than his, which happens to be a great many people.

He certainly deserves prayers and sympathy as a human being, but we should always remember him for exactly what he is ... a corrupt U.S. Senator and a failed presidential candidate.

Not to pick on you specifically, but what is wrong with all of you people who hope McCain recovers and wish him well? Seriously which one of the following did you vote for: Bernie or Hillary? Because if you voted for Trump, then you're wishing well to a crook (look up Keating 5), and one of the most effective enemies the traditional American values have.

McCain, Obama, Pelosi, and others are the ENEMY. Or to put it another way, go back in time almost 50 years and find yourself in the jungles of Viet Nam. You're on patrol, and suddenly the guy in front of you gets hit in the face with an AK round tearing off part of his lower jaw. He drop, and you drop and there's incoming fire. Now for the multiple choice question.. You do which of the following:

  1. You try to figure out where the fire is coming from and return fire and hope you or one of your buddies manages to hit the bastards who are shooting at you .
  2. You lie down and hope that the VC/NVA who are shooting at you don't get hurt and if they do they quickly recover while fondling your Jane Fonda autograph
Because to me all of you who wish McCain well are choosing "B" I will proudly say without any sanctimonious virtue signaling I hope the crooked backstabbing commie loving son-of-a-bitch drops dead, and the sooner the better

McCain has done more damage to this country than an entire regiment of NVA

Let's hope he *officially* leaves office very,*very* soon. The good of the nation is far,*far* more important than the health status of *any* of its citizens. This country desperately needs 100 functioning Senators for the critical tasks ahead.

McLame should know better than most that the *mission* is most important.
