If McLame had a shred of decency in him he'd resign *now*...effective *immediately*.But I know he doesn't so he won't.

Governor Ducey, a conservative enough Republican, can appoint a conservative Republican to replace McCain. But McCain needs to do the right thing and resign NOW! If there is a patriotic and unselfish bone left in his body, he will resign NOW. I hope the appropriate conversations among Ducey, state GOP leaders and McCain’s handlers are going on right now.
Gov appoints replacement until the next general election. The senator elected then serves the remainder of the original term and then faces the same reelection date as the original senator.
So, election in 2018, then again four years later.
