He won’t resign, his ego’s entirely too big, his whole identity is tied to being Senator. He’ll be back, inadvisable or not. Glioblastoma is typically pretty much untreatable for us deplorable peons and death would be pretty quick, with all manner of odd mental issues as the disease progresses. But, being a swamp creature he’ll have access to medical care denied to those who pay for his salary and benefits. Congress exempting themselves from their own infernal boondoggles is the most galling thing to me, they should not be able to exempt themselves from anything that they foist off on the populace as a whole, not at all, otherwise they’re far less concerned about the impact of it, since they won’t be experiencing it.
Prayers...
Time to resign and let them pick a replacement till the next election! Go home and relax!
It is now time to retire John.
Lindsey is CNN’s senior Republican now.
My husband died from GBM. It was inoperable and he died 15 days after diagnosis.
Per our convo the other day...we were right, it seems.
Oh poor Lindsey...how will he cope???
Looking at this logistically though, until and unless he resigns, the Republicans have one less vote in the senate at this critical time.
Good thing he has obamacare.................oh wait he is exempt from it and will get the finest healthcare in the land. Nice for him, us we die in pain eating dirt.
Bottom line: two year survival rates are good, but only with aggressive radiation and chemotherapy. He cannot do that and stay in office. If he doesn’t quit he is limited to a few months.
So the question becomes who will AZ governor Doug Ducey select as his replacement?
Sorry to hear, especially since my 84 year old Mom just last week was told her Uterine cancer though caught in time has spread to her liver/lung. Now my 88 year old Father in all likelihood has lung cancer (never smoked a day in his life)
I’ll say no more other than a certain SC Senator will be feeling real lonely soon, he will be powerless.
Prayers sent for the man and his family.
Don’t like him politically, though I voted for him against Obama.
But he needs to retire and spend time with family and friends.
Good!
Resign. Get out. And die in anonymity!
I would not wish cancer on anyone & suffering from this sort of brain cancer will not be easy for McCain and his family to deal with at any level ..... we certainly do not ‘love’ (or even like) him, but they do. Prayers for them all, John McCain included.
I’ve been praying that McCain would leave office soon (left the reason ‘unspecified’). Hopefully, with this terrible diagnosis, he will decide that instead of being a stubborn old goat, he’ll spend his last days with his family. If the tumor is as aggressive as advertised, he won’t have much choice in the matter.
John McCain served in the military and suffered for it. For that he has my eternal respect.
I won’t comment on anyting else I’ve strongly felt about him except to say...
I will pray for him.
If McLame had a shred of decency in him he'd resign *now*...effective *immediately*.But I know he doesn't so he won't.
Anyone know how AZ law handles a Senate resignation?
My mother taught me that if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.
That is all.
