And AIDS.
I would like to see more social injustice protestations. Real in your face America edgy kind of stuff.
Pete Rozelle is spinning in his grave. The reason sports gets ratings is because its only political to the extent it promotes traditional American values. When Goodell turned the NFL into another social justice campaign, Joe Sixpack, the core of the fan base, turned it off.
I just have no interest....
I do watch college football...
And I do watch my favorite MLB team...via MLBTV.com
My problem with ESPN is that I would watch it to watch SPORTS and get away from politics.....now those liberal a$$e$ that are runnning it don’t care about every day American sports fans....they just want to push their liberal agenda. When they spent more time defending Kapernaeck then reporting sports I knew it was time for me to quit watching.....and what lib is going to get the ESPY Award for bravery tonight? Kapernaeck??? Wouldn’t be surprised......
They need to split it with Hispanic heritage/Americano futbol silliness.
Haha, no kidding.
No joke. The NFL has had a lot of dumb crap going on for a long time but one moron brought it all together and made people say enough: Kapernick.
Big time. My 10 year old daughter is all into geology and has been since the age of 4. Since I live in a state that is very geologically active, collecting topaz and other semi-precious stones is something we do a lot. I’m sure people think I’m nuts but I’d rather spend my weekend with my daughter digging holes in the desert any time.
These numbers are a lot like Zero’s and Hillary’s approval numbers. If they’re reporting 12 MNF viewership is down 12%, I’ll bet it’s actually north of 20%. A few stories have gotten out (downplayed, dismissed, and under-reported, of course) that the advertisers are in a near-panic. The economy is improving for everybody but them.
As much as I can’t stand that guy, I’m so glad that he’s the blast of cold water that was badly needed to wake people up. Not that I’ve been much of a viewer for the last 10 years, but football is officially dead to me now.
No doubt. These days, I go watch club-team hockey up at the local college.
Well, I dunno, but I do note that today I’ve seen more references to “fart” and “farting” than I’ve ever seen before here.
I’m wondering if there’s a major epidemic of intestinal gas running through the land.
Add to that the garbage that passes for entertainment at SB half time shows and racial/social liberal politics promoted not only on ESPN, but across the sports media and it's easy for me to understand why I haven't watched a game since sometime in the 80s. I honestly can't name 5 NFL players and not a single one from NCAA.
We have a minor league hockey team near me....the Tulsa Oilers. But I've never been...
One of my daughters has been though...and she likes it.
Well, it is the right time of year for the chili cook-off.
That’s how it went for me, too. The last nail in the coffin for me was the HBO documentary “Disposable Heroes” (YouTube link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBEhvqGISyY). Yes, back in 1984, HBO was actually a responsible organization that made competent documentaries, not like the Bill Maher liberal tabloid garbage that they throw at people today. Bill Maher is the reason I won’t go near HBO today.
They need to stop insulting over half their viewership. ESPN is nothing but a social justice bull session. Like MTV used to be music, ESPN used to be sports now it’s social justice.
Totally agree, I don’t want to see them pick up the pieces. The NFL is a fake institution, as fake as CNN and ESPN, burn baby burn. But there is a glimmer of hope, they’re taking a hard hit. Europeans like to go an about how Americans are such sports fanatics while hosting soccer riots where people actually die. We’re putting the NFL in its place, MLB and NBA have been getting there slowly, are they getting there with soccer (what they call football)? The world cup corruption scandals haven’t slowed them down a bit.
Yup. That whole disgraceful act could have been shut down by letting the players know that the stage belongs to the NFL. They players are the stars, but the show is the product. On the stage, personal causes must stop. Immediate unpaid suspension for ten games upon first offense, lifetime for the second.
