"This was an effort to get opposition research on an opponent in an American political campaign from the Russians, who were known to be engaged in spying inside the United States," Richard Painter, who serves a Bush's top ethics lawyer from 2005 to 2007, said Sunday on MSNBC."We do not get our opposition research from spies, we do not collaborate with Russian spies, unless we want to be accused of treason," Painter continued. "If this story is true, we'd have one of them if not both of them in custody by now, and we'd be asking them a lot of questions."
"This is unacceptable," Painter added. "This borders on treason, if it is not itself treason."
MSNBC has a different definition of "collusion."
Trump Jr. meeting takes Russia scandal in an alarming direction
Steve Benen - MSNBC
For Trump Jr. to join Kushner and Manafort for a meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer in the hopes of obtaining damaging information about Hillary Clinton looks quite a bit like collusion.
Don Jr. is sharp. They are finally seeing this.
Yes, they changed the incriminating but its noted that the tweet is still up.
Everybody knows this. Why is NOTHING being done about it???
"It was a short introductory meeting. I asked Jared and Paul to stop by. We primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago and was since ended by the Russian government, but it was not a campaign issue at the time and there was no follow up.The press claims DJT Jr.'s statement on Sunday contradicts his statement of Sunday. That claim is false. The Sunday statement adds new information. It does not contradict any assertion in Saturday's statement."I was asked to attend the meeting by an acquaintance, but was not told the name of the person I would be meeting with beforehand."
The new information provided on Sunday is that DJT Jr. was told before the meeting that it would include information helpful to the Trump campaign; that the dirt on Hillary was gibberish; and that the person asking for the meeting was told that DJT, Sr. was a private person, and any lobbying for foreign policy change should be directed to government officials.
After reading Don Jr.’s statement, I’m having a hard time finding out just what is so “incriminating.”
What are they claiming is “incriminating”?
How long can they milk this dead horse?
So sick of Russia, Russia, Russia.
Then why are no charges being brought against Comey? Why is nothing being done about it?
And "incriminating" is still the headline in Atlanta!
I watched the Cuomo/Conway exchange of this morning. Cuomo has the "perpetually concenrned" look down, ala Jake Tapper.
Fake people.
That is funny In Indiana it would be basketball , and pork tenderloins
Hi don’t give click to Washington Compost, its click bait.
No sweat, and agreed. NIKK had posted that WaPo itself had removed the word "incriminating" from its headline. My post, even though ID'd as a WaPo article, links to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where the word "incriminating" persists in the headline.
IOW, the point of my post was the headline, not the contents. The link was provided in case anybody wanted to substantiate the contention rather than take my word for it.
Thank goodness no kid has Merkel as a parent.
This doesn't sound at all like a meal POTUS will enjoy https://t.co/3AMsDaZpPt— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) July 10, 2017
Maggie on the other hand-how would she know what our President would like. She's never listened or cared about finding out the truth..she makes it up as she goes. She doesn't know how to stop herself.
