You should be fighting for privacy for online participants and against the evil fake news CNN for threatening people for exercising their free speech rights, shouldn’t you?
If a media organization uses legal means to reveal the identity of a person involved in a legitimate news story, they are free to do so.
BTW-There is no privacy on the internet.
