In Texas, we’ve been celebrating for a week and a half. Every night, the crowd has moved to a new fireworks display since June 30. 24/7 the house shakes - BOOM BOOM BOOM! Sounds like a war zone. Private individuals put on just as grand displays as the city does. The one last night was directly across from us. Hopefully, tonight will be the last. The furbabies can’t take much more. And me neither.

No, the issue is those who made the threats. Law enforcement needs to do their job and protect the citizenry. How they do that is not by penalizing the thousands of people who want to celebrate their country's independence and cancelling the fireworks event.
It is done by having a police presence and a determination to stop and arrest the bad guys.
The easy route they took by canceling the event, just emboldens and plays into the hands of the criminals. Local authorities are failing at their jobs when this happens.
Just more evidence that our country is coming apart at the seams from all the lawlessness the government does not and will not enforce.

We’ve decided to cancel this entire Declaration of Independence. There are way to many British soldiers, and it is very dangerous. It is better to stay inside and live in tyranny. Further, we know there will be people like you who don’t appreciate liberty, and aren’t worth the price we’ll have to pay in order to see it established.

Here is an idea. Round up the gangs, and put them in jail for 24hrs. Charge them with any crime, then say sorry on July 5th and let them go.
