I never ‘ever’ thought I would read these words from you... Now, I have a question, why is it that I could see this in Donald J. Trump from the get-go and you could not?
I never was convinced he wasn't a Dem. I knew Cruz was who he was, and that Cruz was a Christian with a history of taking on the establishment in the Senate.

I admit I was wrong on Trump. I also said I would support him if he won the primary. I was never a, "Never Trumper." The moment I knew he won, I was on his side. Which was long before the convention. I knew he won the nomination after he defeated Cruz in S Carolina, and he carried the Christian vote.

But did you know that William F Buckley refused to support Reagan, because he was convinced he was a liberal. After all, i Reagan's past he the Union head of the Hollywood union, When he was a Governor of Ca he signed into law a liberalization of abortion?

Buckley admitted how was wrong, as do I.

Hey at least I supported a staunch conservative, unlike Buckley who supported Bush over Reagan.

LOL

“...unlike Buckley who supported Bush over Reagan.”

Buckley supported Bush because Buckley was more comfortable with an eastern establishment Republican with his Yale/Skull&Bones/Prescott connections. Also, Reagan’s alignment with Goldwater-style republicanism set him at odds with Buckley. Buckley merely talked/wrote a good game but couldn’t execute the ground game. I’d estimate Buckley’s high-point being the time he called Gore Vidal a “faggot” on live TV.

Today, we put up with a nest of similarly-insipid “never-Trumpers” at Buckley’s former publication, National Review, always pretending to have a piece of the “One True Conservatism” as handed down from the mount by Buckley himself. Bah!
