Alleged facelift, I should say. It’d be a fun postscript to this own-goal if the president of the United States got sued by a cable-news host for defamation.
As nasty and stupid as it is for him to sink to this, increasingly I think it’s the least he can do for his base. We may not get a decent health-care bill or tax reform or stronger borders but we’ll have plenty of sick media burns to look back on when we reflect on the Trump years. This panem et circenses is the best panem et circenses, believe me:
I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came..

…to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!

The standards for presidential decorum were higher not so long ago! Anyway, he’s getting it from all sides in the aftermath. From Brzezinski herself…
— Mika Brzezinski (@morningmika) June 29, 2017
…from her network spokesmen…
Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, "it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States."

Please just stop. This isn't normal and it's beneath the dignity of your office.
— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 29, 2017
Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America.
— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) June 29, 2017
…and even from his would-be press secretary:
MESSAGE DISCIPLINE! Today ALL comms coming out of WH shd be focused on #KatesLaw and #NoSanctuaryforCriminalsAct — not cable TV hosts.

Although one man remains ever loyal:
Maybe liberal Joe should stop calling the @POTUS a schmuck, a liar, a thug and mentally unhinged. Were they kissing @POTUS ass at xmas? Yes https://t.co/Ehf4EHvcjS

And of course, Team Trump is on message — not about health care or energy but about the president’s main preoccupation. Keep in mind, Melania Trump’s main initiative as First Lady thus far has been, uh, combating cyberbullying:

I wonder if “Morning Joe” imagined when it was promoting this guy during the Republican primaries that the story would end with him tweeting about Mika’s plastic surgery from the White House. And to think, less than six months ago Trump was supposedly offering to officiate at Joe’s and Mika’s wedding. In hindsight, perhaps we’ll remember today as the day Scarborough resolved to primary Trump.
I’m already looking forward to the investigation into Mika’s facelift on tonight’s very special episode of “Hannity.” In lieu of an exit question, I’ll just link you to this old post by Kevin Williamson written the day of the Indiana primary last year, when Trump eliminated Ted Cruz and effectively clinched the nomination. Ben Shapiro makes a fair point: In certain ways, Trump is the right-wing equivalent of late-night liberal comedians like Samantha Bee or Stephen Colbert. The difference is that the left hasn’t sought to make any of them president. Yet.
Finally, Nancy Pelosi’s doctor has found a new patient.
Mika and Joe helped Trump immensely in the campaign.
Their ratings are lagging.
Trump’s helping them a lot.
The drive-by’s use this as fodder for their non-stop boilerplate anti-Trump propaganda.
My personal opinion:
Trump is playing “Squirrel!”. He is going to get the media all hot and bothered and obsessed about these tweets heading into a long holiday weekend.
Tomorrow, around 5:55PM, he will fire Robert Mueller.
It will be lost in the static and the fireworks.
Just my opinion.
Personally, I think the scandalous law-breaking conduct of the last administration was below the dignity of the position and office.
Words, not so much.
So stupid. Trump didn’t “cancel” anything. He ENHANCED it by sending all these morons to chase tweets (”cheese in the maze”) while he rolls out his programs.
LOL!
I’m sure hot air is super excited for another chance to trash Trump.
Can’t stand them since last year. Haven’t been back. Jerks.
Trump plays these people like a cheap harmonica! LOL!
Slam fist on table....watch the ants bounce!
I’m in the camp that thinks his tweets are weaponized and tactical even if we can’t see it at the time.
But this is an odd one. I guess you could make the argument that creates cover for getting things done and makes the media focus elsewhere.
But maybe it’s just me it seemed like he was getting some momentum and push back on the media and this kind of makes it weird whether he’s right or not and Joe and Mika are nutty.
Trump, Mika and Joe all show zero ability to act like adults
So what exactly prompted Trump to go off on Mika and Joe again? Here's a few examples of what passes for political analysis today on Morning Joe:The program has continually called President Trump a, "fake president" starting just days after his inauguration.
Scarborough implied Trump had dementia in May.
"My mother had dementia for 10 years," he said. "That sounds like the sort of thing my mother would say today ... It's beyond the realm," he said.
Scarborough called Trump a "bumbling, bumbling dope" in May.
Scarborough said Trump looked like "a kid who pooped in his pants" in June.
Brzezinski revealed what was supposed to be an off-the-record conversation with KellyAnne Conway, alleging the senior adviser to the president only was sticking with Trump "for the money" while needing to "take a shower" after defending him. Conway says it never happened. Regardless, off-the-record is supposed to mean off-the-record, but Brzezinski shared anyway in a scene right out of Gossip Girl. ...
As for Joe and Mika, there's plenty to criticize this presidency about on policy or staffing or messaging. But when getting as personal, as vitriolic, as childish as they have, it only plays into the Trump narrative that the media is the true opposition party with an agenda that goes beyond tough reporting.
Mika is finished. Trump knows what he’s doing.
This whole story is just funny. Joe and Mika have got whatever he says coming. Now if he would top it off by attacking Madcow.... It would be a perfect weekend
“Im in the camp that thinks his tweets are weaponized and tactical even if we cant see it at the time.”
I’m not——the Tweeting is downright stupid.
.
Just a few years ago, we were learning about Monica’s blue dress and cigars and the sink next to the Oval Office. Mika’s bloody face is nothing compared to that.
Trump’s tweet was certainly below the dignity of the office, but it gave me a hearty laugh and that’s what matters most.
Yep... She’ll OD on xanex before this is over
This thread calls for the “Trump is finished” kitty!!!
