Under age kids are generally not considered to be in danger of being prosecuted for a sex crime, when they have sex if they are relatively the same age.
At that age, the worst penalty could be notifying the parents.
In this day and age, I’m not sure if parents are even notified any longer.
It isn’t statuary rape in VA unless there is more than 2 years difference in age. Of course after 18 there is no age limitations. Fro example a 15 year old girl and a 17 your old boy is not statuary rape. But a 15 year old girl and a 18 your old boy is statutory rape but it would never be prosecuted.
