In case you're unaware, we are going through a pretty intense heat wave right now.
With temperatures surpassing 90 degrees, going outside and heading to school can be a pretty grueling (and sweaty) process. Heck, unless you're at the beach, being exposed to such high temperatures can be somewhat of a bummer.
Luckily, most schools allow teenagers to wear shorts, dresses, and skirts to help them cool off from the summer sun but other schools have uniform requirements that don't allow as many options.

Apparently, the Isca academy in Exeter, England has a strict dress code that bans male students from wearing shorts, even on days so hot that wearing long pants seems almost impossible.
However, ladies can wear skirts to school, which gives them a lighter summer outfit to beat the heat in.
Recently, dozens of clever schoolboys at the academy couldn't take the summer heat with trousers on, and allegedly asked if they could wear shorts to school instead.
When they were told they couldn't, they found the next best clothing option that was already part of the school's uniform:
Skirts.

TBH, I'm super proud of 'em. If girls can wear skirts to school, why can't boys rock 'em, too?
Based off the pictures, these dudes look much happier (and cooler) rocking the airy plaid look.

I feel you, man! I LOVE wearing skirts for these very reasons.
The principal of the school, Aimee Mitchell, commented on the boys' choice to wear skirts and admitted she'd be willing to change the dress code in the future.
She told The Guardian,
Shorts are not currently part of our uniform for boys and I would not want to make any changes without consulting both students and their families. However, with hotter weather becoming more normal, I would be happy to consider a change for the future. In the meantime, these guys are rocking their skirts without shame, and Twitter is digging it.

Hopefully their dress code changes soon, but in the meantime, I definitely applaud their efforts to rock a skirt in the summer heat.

The left will be all happy if they decide to slice off their appendages and wear skirts for real. The world is insane.
Kilts
Is the heat wave all they’re beating?
Britain’s Third World guests may take a liking to teenage boys in skirts.
Sorry, I am not buying the “Summer Heat” excuse. This is Summer in England, not Tucson.
Sadly, those are skirts. Parent’s buy your boys proper manly kilts
They can self identify as Scottish and wear kilts.
A kilt is not a skirt. A kilt is a kilt.
Izza kil* no a skirr*!
Those aren’t kilts, sadly (at least, they don’t look like kilts to me). That would be the correct solution here, instead of feminizing young lads.
Hubba hubba.
Homos in training? WTF?
When I went through grade school and high school boys wore dress pants or jeans, your choice. Girls had choice of dress pants, jeans or dress. NO Shorts in school but permitted for after school practice of school sports and we had no AC in the humid and stifling heat of eastern Kentucky.
Heck I never had AC at home until I was nearly 11 yrs. old! You used a window fan and floor fan. You stayed outside until dark, then clean up and bed time. Pansies need to suck it up buttercups!
