Tuesday on Sean Hannity’s nationally syndicated radio show, author and University of the Arts professor of humanities and media studies Camille Paglia railed against the current state of journalism in America.
Paglia called what she said the Democratic Party had done to journalism “absolutely grotesque” and warned it would take decades to recover.
“It’s obscene,” she said. “It’s outrageous, OK? It shows that the Democrats are nothing now but words and fantasy and hallucination and Hollywood. There’s no journalism left. What’s happened to The New York Times? What’s happened to the major networks? It’s an outrage.”
“I’m a professor of media studies, in addition to a professor of humanities, OK?” she continued. “And I think it’s absolutely grotesque the way my party has destroyed journalism. Right now, it is going to take decades to recover from this atrocity that’s going on where the news media have turned themselves over to the most childish fraternity, kind of buffoonish behavior.”

It all started to go bad in 92 with Clinton and CNN.
CNN promoting Perot to split the vote and get Clinton elected.
CNN then became Clinton News Network.
Pat Caddell and Alan Dershowitz also have good moments.
Back in 1955 at a National Journalism Convention, Edward R. Murrow gave the keynote speech on reporting and the dangers of editorializing the news, He stated reporting had to be fair and that any editorial comment must be labeled as such.
We are now at the point where no line exists and in fact reporting has little or no verification, and made up news is now prevalent to justify the agenda.

You should have listened. She makes a lot of sense on some things. I have read several of her pieces and interviews.
Yes I don’t agree with on many things but on some things she nails it. By the way Rush even likes her.

Yes; she is a liberal but her eyes have been opened. She may not completely realize it yet but she is coming over to our side and should be supported.

I have to disagree with you, by the "early 80's" the shift to the left was virtually complete in print and broadcast media. I used to be a voracious reader of news magazines (Time, Newsweek, USN&WR) starting in college (free library access). By the mid 80's the only one with even a pretense of impartiality was USN&WR, and that one made the leftward shift at about 1985.
Well, one of the few, at any rate.
I most often disagree with her viewpoints, but she's an authentic voice worth listening to.
She's also scrupulously honest, from what I have seen.
Just a brilliant, brilliant woman who gets it on so many levels but is still a Democrat. She’s a joy to read but a little hard to listen to, her mind appears to race ahead of her mouth, very staccato with stops and starts, almost like stuttering but not really. She’s a joy despite her quirks and shortcomings. Always glad to hear from her.
Camille Paglia is the proverbial lone voice in the Dem desert. Fortunately, they won’t listen to her.
And she’s not the only one to note the destruction of “journalism”; Daniel Greenfield brilliantly points out WHY the media turned themselves into National Enquirers: it’s the only thing that will make them money!

There are some still around, I could a few as personal friends. But, they’re having to go practically underground as we have if in an urban area, and it’s alienating them even further. Nothing like being treated as a pariah for logic, to open one’s eyes.
She’s a dying breed - a democrat of old caught in the party that has degenerated into insanity...
