State Department probes Clinton handling of government emails, could pull her security clearance

The State Department has opened a formal inquiry into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while she was the nation’s top diplomat, Fox News has learned. Despite being under investigation, Clinton and her staffers still have security clearances to access sensitive government information.

The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents. The department declined to say when its inquiry began, but it follows the conclusion of the FBI’s probe into the matter, which did not result in any actions being taken against Clinton or any of her aides.

Depending on the outcome of the current State Department inquiry, Clinton and her aides could have their access to sensitive government documents terminated.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, confirmed the department’s formal inquiry.

Meanwhile, Grassley’s committee launched its own inquiry into Clinton’s handling of emails, an inquiry that began in March. Grassley cited among his concerns the July 5 statement of former FBI Director James Comey that the agency found Clinton and her staff members were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.” Grassley also contended there is “evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information...”

During the FBI’s investigation of Clinton’s use of top-secret and classified information on her private server, Comey said there were seven email chains on Clinton’s computer that were classified at the “Top Secret/Special Access Program level.” Another 2,000 emails on her private server were found to have contained information deemed classified now, though not marked classified when sent. In addition, the server also contained 22 top-secret emails deemed too damaging to national security to be released.

They need to determine? BS. Once one leaves a TS or higher job for one or two years the TS clearance is reduced to the lowest one needs to continue Gov/Military work/assignments. Clinton has been out to long to even have a damn secret security clearance. That is the minimum for military officers. When was her BI done? When were updates done?

That’s sure going back a way but I remember that. Those staff members worked all that time in the Clinton WH without clearances - went out the same way they came in - NO CLEARANCES!

I think it was outlined in Clinton Chronicles which I have managed to lose somewhere in a move. I didn’t want all the Clinton books when we retired and moved but I thought I’d kept that one as it covered all the sins - draft dodging to Whitewater....

It's not uncommon in law enforcement, after they detect illegal activity, to let that activity continue to build a case. That is, they let the law be broken on their watch, to collect evidence.

As the prior post notes, access has to be cut. I wouldn't be surprised if the request to revoke Hillary's access got bogged down or 'lost' in the Deep State. Maybe, just maybe, when someone got around to it, an active pipeline of information flowing to Hillary, that the Trump Administration uncovered. Rather than revoke her access, they've let it ride to collect evidence.

Sure, Hillary will hold a press conference, claim that she never opened the envelopes of intelligence, that she learned about what's happening in the world like everyone else, by reading the Wall Street Journal, and that technically no law was broken blah blah blah. The subsequent snapping you'll hear is that of the bear trap.

As I've read here many times, we won't get everything. We won't get Hillary in Orange, tax cuts, the Wall, and so on. There will be some arrangement made, some deal. Yes, we Deplorables won't be happy...we have walked in the desert for 28 years. But in the midst of 'failure' you often find success. Many thought Reagan failed at Reykjavik, but my reading of history (and that of George Shultz) is just the opposite.

Bulls and bears make money, pigs and sheep get slaughtered. Let's play long ball, folks, and witness some of the most artful acts of patriotism seen in decades.
