I was stationed in 29 Palms California in 1973 this time of year.

It’s in the high desert north of Palm Springs.

It was HOT....................

And yet a hundred miles or less to the north at Mammoth Mountain, snow levels range from 70” at the lodge (9,500 ft elev.) to 225” at the top of the mountain (11,053 ft. elev.). The ski area plans to close this year, August 8th.

You know it. I was stationed at Barstow from 70-73 and it is hot. Went down to 29 Stumps a few times and was hard pressed to decide which was worse. Made one trip to China Lake Naval Weapons Center and that place was desolate and HOT! Made Barstow and 29 Palms look like a paradise.

This is normal weather for that part of the country. They cancelled certain flights last year over 118 temps. A couple of years ago I attended a 4-day convention in Las Vegas and it was 104 every day.

Nothing unusual, CNN are still lying propagandists.
