Otto Warmbier, the American student who was detained and held in North Korea before being returned back to the U.S. earlier this month, has died according to his family. He was 22 years old.

What happened to Otto should be considered a war crime
It must be difficult to believe that some nations are as insane as depicted. I think it would be hard to go NK and not get in trouble with facial expressions.
Sad.
Willing to be he was waterboarded to the point of asphyxiation, resulting in brain damage and the subsequent coma.
Yep....that is my take on it too.
Warmbier traveled to North Korea for a five-day New Year's tour of the country organized by Young Pioneer Tours. Ten other U.S. citizens were in his tour group.[4][14][15][16][17] During his stay at the Yanggakdo International Hotel in Pyongyang, Warmbier allegedly stole a propaganda sign from a staff-only floor of the hotel.[18] The poster said, "Let's arm ourselves strongly with Kim Jong-il's patriotism!". Harming such items with the name or image of a North Korean leader is considered a serious crime by the government.[19]

Sounds to me like he almost committed suicide by Nork proxy.
Media blaming president for his death in 3 ... 2 .... 1
We need to get a hold of the leadership of that criminal regime fat boy and all the top brass and give them the sadam treatment.
When we’d go to the DMZ we were always warned not to make any facial expression or gesticulation that might be considered offensive or profane in any way.
;)
Rest in peace, Otto.
May God console your loving family and friends.
This makes me so sad. Prayers to all.
My heart goes out to this family. Yes, thank the Lord he came home to die with is family by his side.
No more US citizens going to NK!!
Amen.
He had planned to study abroad in his third year of college in China and heard about Chinese travel companies offering trips to North Korea. His parents were OK with it.
“Otto’s a young, thrill-seeking, great kid who was going to be in that part of the world for a college experience,” Fred Warmbier explained.
Young Pioneer Tours described itself as providing “budget tours to destinations your mother would rather you stayed away from.” They also included Iran, Iraq and former Soviet countries.

The only thing we should send to North Korea is a fully loaded fleet of B-2s.
smart people don’t think they can take a vacation in Norklandia, or Islamlandia.
No way I would.
Wow.
The kid just wants to show off to his friends by stealing a poster.
And they kill him over it.
Leftists are seriously sick people.
He was on his way to another destination (Hong Kong?) to study abroad. He decided to set up a visit to NK with an organized group. Who knows why? Thought it would be cool? Bragging rights? Pad his resume for when he applied for an international relations job after college? While there, he stupidly trespassed onto a staff-only floor of his hotel and tried to steal a propaganda poster of Dear Leader. Who knows what kind of mindset made him think that was a good idea. If he had not done that he would have been on a plane out of there like all the others in his group.
A Freeper who has been following this story in great detail, whose name I can't recall, posits that Otto tried to commit suicide by hanging and failed. That actually makes a lot of sense. NK uses these people as bargaining chips. If they kill or substantially injure them, their value as bargaining chips is substantially compromised. Typically, folks returned by the Norks come back in good shape, after a substantial payment or concession has been made, of course. A failed suicide attempt by hanging would explain the lack of oxygen that caused his brain damage.
A sad story all around.
Well that’s sadly ironic!
