I love FreeRepublic, but in the last couple of weeks I've found it pathetic to see so many people here ranting about what the Trump administration should or shouldn't do regarding the U.S. Justice Department, Sessions, Rosenstein, Mueller, etc. --
based on reports published in media outlets that have been thoroughly discredited over the course of the last five months since Trump was inaugurated. Fake news is bad enough. Trying to make an intelligent suggestion based on what is probably fake news is abject lunacy.

Funny coming from a guy that Trump decided to warn everyone about this morning.

Don’t trust named officials, either.
Hey, Ros, don’t trust officials who reinstate those such as Mueller, either.

Robert Mueller expands special counsel office, hires 13 lawyers
While only five attorneys have been identified, concerns have come up over the political leanings of Quarles, Rhee and Weissmann. They have donated overwhelmingly to Democrats, totaling more than $53,000 since 1988, according to a CNN analysis of Federal Election Commission records.

Looks like a coup, feels like a coup, smells like a coup
Oh . . . nothing here folks. General Rosenstein says so . . . .

But the entire spectrum of media spent yet ANOTHER whole day talking about a fake story.
Just like they have for the past 10 months and the Russia story.
Nevermind HilLIARy’s ACTUAL crimes. They’ll get to those right after THIS fake story.

The press is apoplectic over that tweet.
"Trump admits he is under investigation!"
Funny stuff. WaPo says
A "witch hunt" is a baseless campaign to smear an innocent person, often one who holds views outside the mainstream. That's not what the special counsel's investigation is.
"This is not a witch hunt." Right up there with "I am not a crook."

It's not just funny -- it's hilarious.
You know why? I read Trump's Twitter message and Rosenstein's subsequent statement and have now come to the inescapable conclusion that Trump is not being investigated by Mueller.
Rosenstein's statement is a message that is given to media and broadcast to the general public, but is being directed at Trump himself.
Just go back through the chain of events and realize how clear this is.
What makes it hilarious is that Rosenstein is saying (in so many words): "Would you calm down and drink decaffeinated coffee for a while instead of reacting to every piece of bullsh!t put out there in the fake media, you orange gorilla?"

Of course he has to recuse himself. President Trump just made him part of the story behind the whole investigation.

While I agree with your general sentiment, $53K in 30 years ain’t spit.

What leaks?
You mean like the story leaked to the New York Times from someone who insisted that Comey was going to testify to the Senate last week that he never told Trump that he wasn't being investigated? There is absolutely no evidence that any of the stories out there are true. It can't be a "leak" if the story is fake.
