Wow. This is totally different from the Gallup poll which has him at 38% (up from 36% a few days ago). They are so diametrically different that obviously one is completely wrong. It’s hard to know.
CNN says they don’t agree with Rasmussen’s methodology or cite them (which actually makes them more reliable in my book).
Which got it right in 2016?
Remember what we (should have) learned from the last election about polls. People still go on and on about methodology, sample sizes, etc as if the goal of these polls was to actually assess the sense of Americana by statistically valid means. That is false! These polls are political propaganda, skewed or made-up to try to influence your thinking.
Amazed so many FReepers still fall for it, every time the word “poll” is posted here. Sad.
Rasmussen has been much more trustworthy than Gallup. Gallup screwed up on the 2012 elections so much, that the firm didnt even poll the 2016 election. Rasmussen on the other hand was arguably the single most accurate poll last year, as their final poll predicted a 2% popular vote win for Hillary, which is what happened. Add to this the fact that Gallup used to show Obamas approval ratings 3-5% higher than the other presidential approval rating polls on average, then its quite clear that the Gallup poll has been a partisan joke for a while now.
The left loves to cite Gallup, because they dont care about accuracy, only about making Trump look bad.
wow indeed. gallup is a joke and has been for awhile. they even recused themselves from election polling because they were so off in the previous election.
Gallup is polling adults.
Rasmussen is polling likely voters.
