Spam is pretty good fried and with barbecue sauce ;-)
(That was one of the things we learned to cook in Home Ec., back in the ‘60s. Serve it on top of rice.)
Try some mustard, ketchup and some brown sugar mixed together, cover the spam and bake a bit. Mom made this with mashed potatoes in the 70’s many times when her and Dad were making ends meet. Good.
My high school caf served french-fried Spam sandwiches with lettuce, tomato and mayo on white toast. The Spam was thinly sliced and dredged. The bread crumb coating was golden and crunchy. I loved institutional food. Of course, that was before Moochelle butted in.
