The pass gave him access to the buildings' sprinkler systems.
I bet he "fixed" them real good...
Treason is not too strong a word.
I just heard people waving flashlights were taken off by helicopters, but I agree, there will be a lot of deaths.

Or shoddy construction, or unsafe living conditions with electrical overload etc. Arson is a possibility but so is simple human stupidity or cutting corners.
This is terrible. Prayers to everyone there.
Good question. I have no idea. I can’t understand how from one end of the building to the opposite end and all the way up could get engulfed like this. It’s the entire building. I can’t imagine this isn’t deliberate.
How does a fire like this happen.
Criminal activity seems likely, no?
Turn off or "fix" the sprinklers. (see post #22)
Prop open the fire doors (chain the handles to the stair rails)
Spread accelerant.
Shout something about a snack bar.
Throw in a lit road flare.
What could cause a fire to spread so rapidly? One thing learned from the MGM fire in Las Vegas a few decades ago was wallpaper and wallpaper glue were extremely flammable and spread fire quickly across entire floors.
Pictures look just terrible. Whatever the cause it’d a disaster.
