Forbes is reporting that Jennifer Lawrence's survived her private jet performing an emergency landing after losing both its engines. Yikes!
JLaw's plane, which departed from her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, lost one of its engines at 31,000 feet. The pilot decided to make an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York, but then things got even scarier when the second engine shut down.

The Gimli Glider was flying from Montreal to Edmonton by way of Ottawa. It was not over the ocean when it ran out of fuel. It was forced to make an emergency landing at the former Canadian Air Force base at Gimli Manitoba.

Actors are often very insecure people. They are in a profession where their career can end abruptly without warning. Many of them aren’t very bright at all. They seek approval constantly. This leads them to engage in radical left wing speech because they get peer validation. This sometimes results in broad rejection from the most important people in the film world, the ticket buyers.
A smart actor would keep his or her mouth shut about politics. It’s called professionalism... a concept sadly lost in the incestuous world of cinema. The old studio heads knew this and in the past required actors to maintain a professional mien in public.
With the end of the studio system this professionalism as soon lost. Today there are very left wing actors who do keep their mouths shut. Conservative or even libertarian actors know to keep their mouths shut if they want to work at all.
I’ve noticed a few actors whose careers went south after particularly vile public commentary. The producers and directors don’t want anything happening that might drive the public away from their projects. So they do avoid anyone who might jeapordize their bottom line.
OTOH,Leigh Nash (of Sixpense None The Richer) is absolutely gorgeous and has made several outstanding records.I'm a big fan.
She has also become a Leftist Tool which is unfortunate.
Leigh Nash is a Christian who once basically told Letterman,on the air,to go jump in a lake when he made one of his typical smarmy,immoral comments to her.
To put it another way I've stepped inside a movie theater about a half dozen times in the last 30 years...and not once in the last 10 years.

Doubtful. The usual places a Hawker would fuel have sufficient turnover to make contamination unlikely IMHO. Fuel contamination can be an issue in GA at small airports and aircraft that see limited use that may sit with partially filled tanks where condensation is an issue. That’s why a good preflight includes draining the fuel sumps and inspecting their contents in a clear container.
The article I read (admittedly a while ago) I’m pretty sure mentioned that they had started across the Atlantic. Not saying that was correct.

To me, “fuel management” is rare. . .it is fuel contamination that is more than likely.
I was flying in the states when Mt Saint Helen’s erupted and spewed ash.
Lots of reports of severe engine damage from the ash. Thing is, the reported damage was hyped and pictures of the damage were mostly nonsense.
Pitting happens but out-and-out engine failure and component failure makes a good story.
Then when Iceland had their eruption a few years back, many of the photos from jets flying during St Helen’s were re-cycled.
We flew and the most we encountered was pitting, not catastrophic component failure.

I've heard of them testing jet engine by throwing frozen chickens into them. I know they hit the occasional goose or duck.

Story is: Testing engines and cockpit canopies by firing frozen chickens at the test bed, and the engines and canopy always shatter. . .until someone noticed that jets will not encounter frozen poultry when flying.
Brits always accuse the US of doing this. With the Brits, it’s always the Americans that are acting silly.
We used a Steam Turbine driven compressor to give them a simulated 600 thru 800 miles per hour air speed.
Before this we used live seagulls but the hippies got upset.
