“Regarding the climate movement, there are people who say, ‘God is in complete control of everything that happens, and if the Earth is getting warmer, then maybe God intends that,'” Gore said. “Well, no.”
“God intends for us to take responsibility for how we treat God’s creation, and if we choose to use the thin shell of atmosphere surrounding our planet as an open sewer for 110-million tons of global-warming pollution every day, the consequences are attributable to us,” Gore told Interview Thursday.
“And if you are a believer, as I am, I think God intends for us to open our eyes and take responsibility for the moral consequences of our actions,” Gore said.

Every time I see Al Gore I am reminded of the scene in the movie “Brother Where Art Thou” where the Mississippi governor chases his son around hitting him with his hat because his son said something stupid. Imagine Al Gore Sr a smart but corrupt southern politician of the old school as the Mississippi governor and Al Gore Jr as the son. My mind’s eye can picture that scene with Sr chasing Jr around hitting him with a hat or rolled up newspaper over something stupid that Jr said!

Al, you don't mind if I call you Al do you? I mean, you've had your hand in my pocket so much I figure we ought to be on a first name basis by now. Anyway Al, buddy... Lots of people have faith and their God "talks" to them or otherwise communicates to them things these people believe just as fervently as you hold your beliefs. Many of these beliefs directly conflict with your beliefs. So I have to ask, as a rational 3rd party observer, what makes your beliefs any more or less valid than these other ones? Here's a hint, they aren't. They are simply your beliefs and do not merit action or consideration any more than anyone else's.
In short Al, get over yourself. We're not jumping just 'cause you said so. In fact, given your track record Al, we should probably consider jumping the other way.

All this and yet...algore insists that *my* thermostat be set at 64 in winter and 80 in summer and that I drive a car powered by a lawnmower engine.
The same God, I supposed, that wants him to makes billions of dollars doing so. There are many many seedy people in Washington, but Al Gore takes the cake.
