Comey again claimed he was fired “to use the President’s words” because of the way he conducted the Russia investigation, that there was something that irritated him (Trump) about the way Comey was conducting that investigation.

That is Comey’s narrative and it is a flat out lie. Comey was fired because he was “not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

I missed the part about Comey admitting he was the leaker. I must have been out of the room, can only catch parts of his testimony.

From what I have seen, Comey comes across as sleazy and wimpy, not the type to head the FBI. And he has huge bags under his eyes, at least on my TV.

Right now J. McCain is mumbling, seems confused.

UPDATE 11:58 A.M. Comey is in big trouble after this hearing. He admitted he’s a leaker, and has an actual network through which he leaks information to the press. In addition, he withheld from leaking information that would have vindicated President Trump weeks ago. White House social media director Dan Scavino captures it clearly and concisely on Twitter:

McCain! He brings up crooked Hillary, not enough evidence, so do not give to prosecutor. Wants an explanation of how he can conclude there is no case with Clinton , but there is a (an obstruction) case with Trump. Comey says the FBI was and is done looking at Clinton and any of her associates. McCain says that Russia action affects Clinton campaign as much as it does Trumps, so how can you say there is no effect on Clinton?

The question is "how do you conclude the investigation is over" and in fact, the Clinto one was reopened after Comey said it was over. But Comey can give a clean bill to Hillary on some arbitrary timing of closing FBI investigation, but can;t say anything favorable about Trump becuase something new might come it.

Comey politicized the FBI, bigtime. Then tries to hide behind a BS claim of apolitical.
