my daughter flew United this week and said the attendants were rude and curt. I wonder if United is unionized and if this is a ploy for pay?

Honestly, in the last 20 years, the only time I’ve haven’t had rude flight attendants was on Southwest.

A United Airlines spokesperson said they reached out to Correia to offer assistance and said they were disappointed that a customer had a poor experience. "Poor experience" and "flying United Airlines" are pretty much synonymous.

If it fits in the overhead or under the seat then what’s the big deal? Flying mostly sucks anyway in great part to the unfriendly cretins like this hack.

“...said they were disappointed that a customer had a poor experience.”
You would think that they would find another phrase to describe “assaulting a customer.” I just hope that the customer found a way to give the employee “a poor experience?” by way of jambing her foot up the “customer service employee’s rear end.

I believe there’s a relatively new rule that musicians may carry on their instruments. My best bud is a famous guitarist and he travels the world with two guitars in a double gig bag. No problems. And a violin? Wasily fits in the overhead. Last time I flew with a guitar, the stew just put it in a clothes closet up front.

As a musician, I wouldn’t trust ANYONE to touch my instrument - especially a professional-grade one. Professional-grade violins can run $10,000-$20,000.

Given United’s history, she was lucky the employee didn’t knock her down, and drag her to the nearest exit.

Herb Kelleher former CEO of Southwest Airlines set the tone for the down line friendly personnel in the company. Southwest is still pretty good but not as much as when Herb was the top dog. United and Spirit should take a lesson.
