Brazilian artist Marina Amaral has transformed the images in remembrance of one of the turning points of World War II where experts believe 4,400 allied troops lost their lives.

Everybody needs to visit Normandy at least once in their lifetime.
The one thing I noticed from driving around the region, is that you see a lot more American flags than in many parts of the US.

We visited Normandy as part of a river cruise. It was one memorable trip. From the beaches to the cemetery, we were moved to tears throughout the tour.

I'd be lying if I said that I was convinced that I would have shown the level of courage that 99% of these Americans,Brits,Canadians showed at Normandy if I was in the same situation.

Great place, great people. However, if you want to see REAL hedgerows, they don't exist near the beaches anymore. You have to drive NE about 2 hours and some in LaHarve area have been preserved.
