LONDON — British police said on Monday they had arrested a 16th person in connection with the Manchester suicide bombing last week.
The 23-year-old man was arrested in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, "on suspicion on offences contrary to the terrorism act", Greater Manchester Police said on Twitter.
A total of 16 people have been arrested in connection with the attack, in which 22 people died. Two were released without charge, while 14 men remained in custody for questioning, the police said.
The news comes as MI5, Britain's domestic intelligence agency, reportedly launched two inquiries into how it missed the threat posed by the Manchester bomber, Salman Abedi, amid claims that his radicalisation had repeatedly been flagged to authorities.

The problem I’ve noticed when government agencies try to find the cause of why something bad happened and they missed it, is, they find the answer that makes it not-their-fault. I think MI5 needs and independent review of why they missed the warning signs. Of course, that would mean a lot of embarrassed (and in-charge) people who should be fired or resign.
Now, let’s suppose some of the warning signs are Tweets, Facebook posts and other social media statements saying, in effect, we don’t like Britain? Are they then going to arrest people who make those posts? I guarantee that would be a lot of arrests and political dynamite for whoever his charged with doing it. Then, what do you charge those sign-wavers with? Displaying Sudden Jihad warning signs?
After every one of these atrocities the cops know who did it and then strut around all armed up and everything saying they’ve got it all under control while the victim’s families bury their dead; yet again.
Sounds like a lot of lone wolves are connected to this bombing.

In a sane world, those Tweets etc., plus attendance at a mosque promoting violent jihad, plus visits to terrorist-packed countries, plus reports to police from family or coworkers, would be enough for the authorities to do something before the bombing or shooting.

Yawn. When their ‘known about’ list is 23k and their short list is 3500, 22 arrests (2 already released) isn’t a drop in the bucket. Trump did more rolling out of bed Jan 20th. When the jihadi families voluntarily travel back to Libya, to Syria, to *stan TO STAY THERE then the tide will have turned. Chop the bennies and special privileges to get the foreign parasites to leave. Then, the harder one, chop the native bennies so they’ll do the needed work without having to import foreign culture to get it done. Then fire the civil service previously administering the above or protesting the changes. If you can do all that and maintain it for 1 - 2 generations you’ll have your country back. A long slog, but it gets easier as folks gradually see the benefits of freedom and self responsibility are better than the old bennies and start to see the residual pro-benniies crowd for the lazy bums they are.

More are always killed by jihadistas than how many are arrested. So through attrition, the West loses. Besides, lives lost are forever, in contrast to those who are arrested most will be out in a couple years or never convicted.
To be at all serious about fighting terrorism we have to execute every scumtard involved with ISIS, refuse to allow more Islamic immigration, refuse to allow “citizens” back in who have traveled to jihad lands to join in fighting for ISIS, etc. etc. etc.
This list of thousands of security concerns re jihad terrorism??? Everyone on the list must be imprisoned, executed, or expelled (deported). You don’t keep all these wannabe jihadists around just waiting to see which one blows up next.
