NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - There's a new push to have more monuments removed in New Orleans, including the French Quarter's iconic Andrew Jackson statue.
The group Take Em Down Nola says the removal of four statues is not enough.
"We're issuing an invitation to the mayor to finish the job. He has already begun the job, and we want him to finish the job," said Malcolm Suber, Take Em Down NOLA spokesman.
"What we would like to see in their place is people who stood for people and liberation. For instance, we think since Harriet Tubman is going to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill," Suber said. "We don't understand why we can't turn Jackson Square into Harriet Tubman Square. At Lee Circle, we don't understand why we can't turn Lee Circle into Dorothy Mae Taylor Circle. Dorothy Mae Taylor was one of the most courageous black leaders in this city. She led the effort to desegregate Mardi Gras."

“feral ghetto liberals have taken over the crescent city...”
This is coming from pampered white elites. A cadre have been operating out of the private universities there for decades. Yes, they have some new comrade carpetbaggers, but most of this rot spreads from the Central Business Distict and the Garden District.
The ones you mention are too busy with armed robbery, rape, homicide and narcotics trafficking to do this.
“The official name used by the war department was the war of the rebellion.”
I just call it ‘unfinished business’.
Stupidity defines New Orleans.
Well, along with venereal disease, crime, graft and fiscal incompetence.
Whites struck back November 8, 2016...in just the right states.
“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
I believe Ol’ Moon had some black blood in him, so according to some folks he was not white. Something about “one drop” tainting the whole system. But when it comes right down to it, pretty much everyone has some kind of “taint.” Somewhere along the line, someone who was “different” dipped a toe in the well.
He’s an idiot. Harriet Tubman was born and raised in Maryland.
you asked for it, you got it Toyota. Now suck it up.
Or return the statues of one group's 9 generations of history to where they belong and you can have your own little statues, too.
White people.
I was in NO in Feb. 1st time since Katrina. The French Quarter is dirtier, smells worse and Food not the same quality. Prices of everything were much higher than anywhere else I travel to.
I for one, now after the removal of monuments to US war veterans, will never return to that shit pit!
You like the place, huh?

“The issue is the revolution.
I don’t understand what you mean. A revolution, in my mind, is designed not to change things that don’t mean anything, but to change things that can alter history or existence. Tearing down historical monuments of a time well back in our history, bad as it was, will not decrease the memory and will not make our current conditions change, improving them or not. All this is a blip in time so someone can get their little unimportant cause covered on national news. And to do it part way is where it fails to mean anything.
I’ll bet there are far less than half the population of the US even knew those monuments existed. Now, I’ll wager a whole lot more know. So, outside of collect pigeon droppings for all these years, what did they mean to society? Nothing. And it means nothing if they come down. They are not the Statue of Liberty.

“Harriet Tubman Square ... Dorothy Mae Taylor”
And don’t forget Chocolate City School Bus Ray Nagin, AL Not-so Sharpton, Jesse Shake-down Jackson, Carolyn Moseley Brown, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters — all the greats in the pantheon of heros and heroines.
yes, I have, but that isn’t gonna happen with MitchBoy. His Daddy was the reason he was elected. To “stomp” on Moon, means “stomping” on the voters he needs.
The quote is a leftist mantra. One good explanation can be found in this old article from American Thinker: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2015/04/gay_marriage_a_trojan_horse_movement.html#.VTv7I7spBGc.twitter
The descendants of black slave owners are the society elite of N.O. the wealthy descendants of my ancestors are among them.(My direct ancestor was one of the younger sons who inherited nothing from the plantation.) Those uptown socialites are falling over themselves supporting the dominant black “leaders”. Kissing up in hopes they will not be targets. The latest is they want Jackson Square renamed for Harriet Tubman and Lee Circle for Dorothy Mae Taylor. OY!!
Interesting, although not surprising. Those black N. O. society elite, rich from the their slave owing roots, shouldn’t much fear modern black ‘leaders’ turning on them. The latter would much rather extract political blackmail, than risk breaking the meme that only whites were evil slave owners. Most aren’t so dumb they’d damn their gravy train. It’s the lower class whites, who’s cultural roots are being destroyed who need to attack the hypocrisy of giving society blacks, and their culture, a pass. Either directly, or indirectly by suggesting rich, successful local blacks from history who made their wealth the same way as rich successful whites from that era for replacement statues. Praise all the good their money did; ignoring, for now, from whence it came. And let today’s ‘leaders’ hijack today the credit for installing them so tomorrow they must defend their picks.
“The quote is a leftist mantra.”
The smoke and mirrors aspect of the liberal attack trying to gain the moral high ground, is not new. The article you displayed was an example of the playbook used by socialists a hundred years ago and further defined by Saul Alihsky, who died in 1972, appropriately in California:
“Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
“Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
“Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
“If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
So I don’t look at it as being anything but a media blitz to try to influence the low IQ. The article you displayed was using Wall Street and it’s failures while further displaying the welfare problem. It’s just another ploy. And until the media writes it straight rather assisting the socialist movement, which is a perfect definition of the theories of Obama and Clinton who both studied and conversed with him through the mail, it is going to continue.

Lived there almost two decades. Read the incident reports and autopsy protocols.
I know it well, and the players.
Agreed. We are seeing it in action now with the clamor over all things Confederate. It is the Trojan Horse at work. It may not look like much, it may seem meaningless, harmless, .....but it is all calculated. It is all about the leftist “revolution”.
