President Trump has privately told multiple people, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he plans to leave the Paris agreement on climate change, according to three sources with direct knowledge.
Publicly, Trump's position is that he has not made up his mind and when we asked the White House about these private comments, Director of Strategic Communications Hope Hicks said, "I think his tweet was clear. He will make a decision this week."

What wat wat no Ivanka, Jarod, Jaranka, Cohn, Goldman Sachs?... like some here like to think. LoL.
Some around here never seem to figure him out. Once Trump looked at the details of this Paris climate agreement, there would be no way he could go for this. Everything that Trump is about - an inhibiting wealth scam and globalism goes against his very being. There was no dang way Trump could square that Paris circle in his own mind.
Agreed. Lots of positives to proceeding this way.
Great.
I never had a doubt. ;-)
Exactly! I would keep it far away from the Senate. That would be a setup, a trap.
I guess you missed the news that Ivanka and Jared might be on their way out.
Trump won 230 CD's and ~30 states. That's worth something if he needs to play hardball with Congress.
Where did you see that?
LoL. Trump is always his own man.
“Sources close to the presidents son-in-law tell the New York Times” that he might return to the private sector. But no decision yet.
He just needs to say that the Paris agreement should have been submitted to the US Senate for ratification as a treaty, that since it has never been ratified by the US Senate the US has never been a party to the agreement. He does not now intend to submit it to the US Senate since he does not consider it to be a treaty the US should join.
That not only announces our rejection of the agreement but also repudiates the idea that we have to go through a prolonged multi-year process to make that withdrawal happen. We were never really “in” it in the first place.
AND, it’s a nice kick in the nuts to Barry and the clowns that pushed this crap on us in the first place.
I was hoping when they claimed he was “evolving” on it, it just meant til he got the heck out of Europe! Being semi-polite to hosts, that is.
“I think this is just speculation by some journo-head trying to meet a deadline.”
indeed. the problem is that this is axios, the fake news propaganda cousin of the fake news propaganda politico, the very same politico banned at FR. Axios and politico are owned and run by the same guy.
basically anything written by axios and politico that don’t site named people or publish actual documents have to be considered false unless otherwise proven true.
(actually, that’s true of WaPo and NYT as well

It is not a treaty. It is an executive agreement. The best way to kill it politically is to treat it as a treaty. It will not pass the Senate.
The Paris climate accord has been negotiated with 175 countries. The Senate cannot amend it. It must be approved as written, which is why it will not receive 67 votes in the Senate for ratification.
Aren't you worried that the GOPe might come up with 19 votes to put it over the top?
Excellent news. Love it.
The “historic” climate deal. *rolls eyes*
No. And there will be plenty of Dem no votes. There are provisions in the agreement that would be harmful politically to Reps and Dems alike. Kyoto was voted down 98 to 0.
If climate change is real, then average highs could run up around 100 in Texas. Typical temperatures in Bhagdad are up around 114. Last year India had temperatures as high as 124 and hundreds died. In 2015, 2,300 died from heat.
