The race to fill Montana's sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives took a violent turn Wednesday, and a crew from the Fox News Channel, including myself, witnessed it firsthand.
As part of our preparation for a story about Thursday's special election to air on "Special Report with Bret Baier," we arranged interviews with the top two candidates, Republican Greg Gianforte and Democrat Rob Quist. On Wednesday, I joined field producer Faith Mangan and photographer Keith Railey in Bozeman for our scheduled interview with Gianforte, which was to take place at the Gianforte for Congress Bozeman Headquarters.

At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"
~snip~
Scanlon (Gianforte's press sec) later issued a statement saying that Jacobs "entered the [campaign] office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg's face, and began asking badgering questions.
Later, the statement added, "After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg's wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground. It's unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ."

Yep! Missoula County, Silver Bow (Butte) County and Deer Lodge (Anaconda) County are the liberal/leftist bastions of Montana. I know of what I speak. I grew up in Deer Lodge County.
just looked at the fox banner:
MORNING BRIEF: FOX NEWS TEAM WITNESSES MONTANA HOUSE CANDIDATE ‘SLAMMING REPORTER’
so it’s a foxnews team...ROTFL
is it ok in Britain to react to stalking pooparazzi? I think there should be a lawful “bubble” of protection around someone. Say six feet in diameter.
Americans don’t like people in our face (I HATE it) unlike the French who can speak nose to nose. Imagine living in Big Sky country and then having a reporter shove his mic in your face. Take it to the supreme court...after the next dem quits.
Remember the body guard “incident” during the Trump campaign? If at first you don’t succeed in taking someone out of the campaign, try try again.
Interesting, isn’t it, that at a news conference, with Fox News in attendance (and presumably other news organizations as well), when a confrontation occurred, nobody got a video or even still picture of the alleged “body slam”?
Maybe there ARE videos, but they don’t agree with the leftist narrative, so they conveniently disappeared.
More fake news from the MSM?

It's a constant stream of Trump/Republican hatred. It's like about 70% of the #FakeStreamMedia's Twitter feeds.
Another 20% are merely anti-Trump.
You’d think in Montana that would improve his support... body slamming a liberal reporter.
A journalist has no special right to harass people.
I believe they have succeeded. But the destruction started long before they were put in charge.
Acuna, the author, seems to be another of Ailes’ bimbos.
He should win.
This reporter could not be happier in his tweets. Looks like a setup by liberal news media.
70% of the vote has already occurred prior to this incident and Gianforte is way ahead in the polls. Montana’s who might not otherwise have made the effort to drive from the farm or the ranch into the closest town to vote are now MORE likely to vote for him, as they, like the rest of us, are sick and tired of the hyper-spastic leftist media going nuts since Trump won the election.
Gianforte wins and wins big.
I suspect the reporter was a plant to get a reaction from Gianforte then they blow it up.
_______________
I think you’re right. Fake news is not enough. Now they have to Make News.
I live in Montana. I would. I did. I would do it again. Today, if I could.
One of the Fox subheads at the link mentions that Montanans fear Trump. Implying that the answer is to elect a tax-evading guitar picker? Yeah, that’s an answer.
Today’s election day, but most of the votes are already in. Guess we’ll see.
Quist is a rabid gun-grabber. Hope he gets CRUSHED by the voters of Montana!
Setup. You called it.
With video because, of course, it was a setup. But. The vid does not support the narrative, perhaps even indicating that the reporter initiated the physical contact. When Gianforte brushed him back, he took a dive. Is my guess. I do NOT accept on its face the accounts of reporters.
The posters who suggested people outside of the campuses who might not otherwise have vote will turn out in big numbers are right. It’s raining today here in Montana. Farmers and some ranchers will be free to get to town.
Well, I sure hope so. Good luck.
I’m in the Bitterroot and you are absolutely correct about those liberal/leftist bastions.
Montana ... she ain’t what she used to be.
