Melania and Ivanka kept with tradition and wore veils to meet Francis. The veil, or mantilla, is traditionally worn by women as a sign of respect when meeting the Pope. Trump senior aide Hope Hicks wore one as well.

Studying the Bible will change your life! How I wish I had started sooner. Eventually I wrote out the entire New Testament by hand, since this is one way I can learn. I find that fragments of verses come back to my mind now and then if I put a few words into a computer search, the whole thing comes right up, often with commentary.
There is a wonderful national organization called Community Bible Study (CBS), with groups in many locations. They provide two-semester, a non-sectarian Bible studies every academic year. Participants are not allowed to argue over doctrine from one denomination to another, nor to dominate conversations or curry favor with the teachers by bringing gifts -- that's not allowed. It has been the best Bible study I have ever attended -- people really stay on the material. The focus is on the words of the text, what they mean in context, and what various commentaries have to say about a given Bible passage. I never understood how the Old Testament foreshadowed the New Testament until I took last year's class and they showed us verse by verse how the one prophecied the other. This year was I and II Corinthians; every academic year is something new. It costs around $65 per year-- money very well spent. Here's the "Find a Class" page.

This old article from DailyMail says her relatives in Slovenia are Catholic, and were aghast that she was not baptised in childhood, possibly since her father (but not her mother) was a member of the Communist Party back then before Eastern Europe was liberated from the Soviets—it was the way to get a job. Then again, DailyMail is often so inaccurate and secular, the reporter may have confused Catholicism with Orthodox—it wouldn't surprise me—Serbian Orthodox being the dominant religion in that part of Slovenia.
Melania was married to Donald by an Episcopal priest, but in a hotel ballroom; reportedly they as a couple had attended the Episcopal church near Mar-a-Lago well before he ran for President, and paparazzi were staked out there the last two Christmases and Easters to capture them and Barron attending services.

In Saudi Arabia they did not meet with a Holy Man or visit a Holy Site.
I am sure if they had visited a Holy Muslim site they would have scarfed up.

Thank you for that clarification. It looked so small in her hand. My neighbor had one that had been blessed by an Archbishop, and it was also very small and understandably inexpensively made, since apparently they are widely distributed as mementoes to persons of all stations at such events.

“Melania, slovena naturalizzata statunitense, è di religione cattolica.”
