Maybe you can explain something to me. This is lauded as first sitting POTUS to go to Western Wall. Obama went but that was before he was sitting POTUS.
Has it really been that big of deal to go to the Western Wall as POTUS. I guess so since no one has done it.
What has been given as the reason not to go. Seems ridiculous. Because it would offend Muzzies?
The State Department has gotten its way claiming that visits to the Kotel are ‘needlessly inflammatory’.
Here’s an NBC bit that emphasizes:

... And while Trump would be the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall, the administration has taken pains to point out that the president is making the pilgrimage as a private person.
Also, US representatives in Jerusalem reportedly angered the Israelis by turning down a request to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tag along.
Why? Because the Western Wall is in East Jerusalem, which the Israelis seized from the Jordanians in 1967 along with the West Bank and which is not officially recognized as Israeli territory...
I did not know that. I am actually surprised W did not go. One thing I think that is genuine about W Bush was his Christianity. Doesn’t it mean something for Christians to also go to the wall?
