Your Post #10? Very well said!
*TRUMP BUMP*
Thanks!
As I implied in another post upthread, I may be a little cynical about whether the majority of the Muslims in the world will come to believe the message that the President is giving them.
But if Trump manages to convince even 1 out of 1000, that’s 16 million new voices for reform.
And even if it makes no difference, it was at least worth a try. Reagan had bigger worries than Islam during his Presidency. Clinton ignored them except when he needed a distraction from Monica. Bush made a show of it but didn’t actually try to do anything other than grow the deep state and tell people that Islam as a whole doesn’t need to change. And Obama outright encouraged and supported terrorism. Despite some of the nay-sayers on the thread, what the President is doing is something new.
I am at least willing to give President Trump a chance. He is a good speaker with inspiring ideals. Maybe he’ll succeed in the goals stated in his speech, maybe not. Maybe he’ll score a partial victory. But at the very least, I won’t fault him for making the attempt.
