Report: China cripples CIA operations, kills informants

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Chinese government "systematically dismantled" CIA spying operations in China starting in late 2010 and killed or imprisoned at least a dozen CIA sources over the next two years, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The newspaper cited 10 current and former U.S. officials, who described the intelligence breach as one of the worst in decades. They spoke on condition of anonymity.

The report said U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies scrambled to stem the damage, but were bitterly divided over the cause of the breach. Some investigators were convinced there was a mole within the CIA, while others believed the Chinese had hacked the covert system the CIA used to communicate with its foreign sources. The debate remains unresolved, the paper said.

She also “lost” or “smashed with a hammer” an abnormally large number of personal devices. The only evidence of that is that she said so.

No, we have to try to rebuild somehow. But the commies have no concept of mercy. They simply kill the opposition.
Perhaps we can take out a few of theirs to even it out.

It is quite likely that the purge is at least was still on going on for many years after 2013. Its quite unusual for a regime to out right kill or imprison spies.

China’s own sun tzu said never to kill spies but rather to coop them:
https://suntzusaid.com/book/13

If china killed or arrested theses Spies, it means they could not coop them, which probably means they did in fact coop a great many others and found theses particular spy useless or un-coopable.

Given how Obama’s FBI appointee James comey couldn’t even keep his mouth shut about the FBI’s limited investigative capabilities. I would not be surprised if his FBI appositives were equally incompetent about this basic fact of spy craft, and never figure out what the leak was or even if their remaining assets have not been compromised.

You don’t kill or imprison spies unless you can’t make them double agents to serve china by feeding us what ever information China wants us to believe.

This is basic Sun Tzu strategy that all Chinese officers study. It is far more likely that these handful of spies were only the minority that refused to be converted spies.
Today known as double agents.
