Nooner never met a Repub she didn’t hate. How was she ever a speech writer for Reagan, although many said he wrote his own. He was an excellent writer.

Noonan is a good wordsmith. The only reason I read her yesterday is that my kid brother posted a link to her article with the comment "Unlike much of our ruling class, Noonan at least grasps that its rule is not preordained." After reading the Noonan garbage, I failed to understand connection between it and the remark that enticed me to read it. Not much time wasted, in the scheme of things.

One nice thing about being president is that you can edit the work of your speechwriters. Noonan's words came out of Reagan's mouth, but not Noonan's world view.
