He wouldn't say something was or was not there, just that the Seth's Rich murder is not related to any claim that the Trump campaign and the Russian government were in collusion.
IOW, he is tasked with investigating the claim of collusion - not the source of the claim or the veracity of the claim, just to investigate whether the claim is true.
I believe he will also studiously avoid investigating the source of illegal leaks to the press.

This pretty much confirms that once the obama regime found out he/Rich wasn’t dead they sent in more criminals to Howard Univ.Hospital to make sure he was dead,basically a second hit.Find out who sent them and you have an even bigger story.

Seth Rich was shot twice in the back.
He sustained a “small injury” to his liver and “several small bowel injuries” — none of which was fatal.
He was taken to the operating room, where his injuries were treated.
He was then moved to ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where he received blood transfusion. He was stable, his blood pressure normal.
8 hours after Rich arrived at the hospital, the place “swarmed” with law enforcement officers. Everyone, except the attending physician and a few nurses, was kicked out of the ICU. There were no visiting hours, which is abnormal for ICU.
That morning, Anonymous and the other doctors were instructed not to make rounds (visits) on “the VIP that came in last night” (Seth Rich).
When Rich died, no one other than the attending physician was allowed to see him. There was no code alert or call for a cardiopulmonary resuscitation team. Although Anonymous was with a patient in the next room, he/she was blocked from attending to Rich.
At the time, Anonymous couldn’t understand why the patient Rich was treated that way and thought the whole thing to be “fishy”. Later, when he found out that the patient was Seth Rich, Anonymous “was terrified”.
What a moment! Helps validate what we are doing here....

Interesting that the Bernie-bots have as much or more interest in the truth on this incident, as do Trump supporters. And I suspect that the GOP-anti-Trumpers are aligned with Team Hillary on stifling any inquiry and curiosity about Seth Rich, whether he was the original source of DNC e-mail publication, and whether he was killed because he knew too much about vote fraud organized in Crooked Hillary's primary race.

It's going to take years. One of the reasons a SC is ever appointed is to take the issue off the table, hide it under a shield of "ongoing investigation."
I don't care what he's doing, it's an unimportant side show, and I predict he will avoid turning the investigation into first page news even when the investigation is complete. He'll produce a blase report suitable for public consumption but leave publication to Rosenstein. The report will list evidentiary trails, statutes, and conclude that no crime was committed.
The left and the press (same thing) will decide whether or not to attempt to gin up outrage anew, when that day comes.
It's all CIA/deep state style and is repeated over and over. Without the fourth year med student at Howard Univ.Medical Hospital we would still be guessing.

If/when witnesses are called to testify before a Grand Jury, the circus will be back in town. Media and witnesses with the same agenda will be making all the headlines. GJ proceedings are secret, but that only holds for the GJ and officers of the court. Witnesses, after testifying, can and do say ANYTHING they want about their testimony to the media....and it doesn't have to be the truth. We found that out during the Plame debacle.
