A South Florida university awarded an honorary degree to Trayvon Martin, Saturday.
Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, took the stage at Florida Memorial University’s commencement in Miami Gardens to receive a posthumous bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science on their son’s behalf.
Fulton and Martin said the ceremony was bittersweet, and now they’re passing on an inspirational message to Trayvon’s fellow graduates.
“To the graduates, I tell you, there is no limit to what you can do,” said Fulton. “Just stay focused and put your mind to it, and you can do it.”

Without disparaging motherly hope that an errant young son will change for the better, this poor woman has plainly taken that virtue to the point of delusion. Trayvon Martin wanted the thug life, not the book bound drudgery required to learn calculus, physics, and the principles of flight. Pretending that he has instead done just that and earned a degree in aeronautics is foolish. Instead of a phony degree and unmerited honors, Trayvon Martin offers the painful and necessary lesson that youthful delinquency and criminal misconduct are not a harmless phase of growing up but are self-destructive and can easily define or even end a life.

MY very first thought when I heard this was :
HOW do the real students-—that PAID for their tuition—their books—their lodging—their meals—for years feel about such a handout to a gang thug?
Funny how that ONE pic of Trayvon—contemporary in time & showing him flashing gang signs & covered with tats went into the dark archives very quickly.
I syspect that this media would show pics of Jeffrey Dahmer as a 6 year old to try & make him look better....
IMO, this media is killing itself, and at the same time, setting up the Dems for the same result.

Trayvon certainly deserves the honor. He was alwaws higher than a kite.
I doubt he could spell "aeronautical", let alone give a reasonable definition of what it encompasses.

Ya know, that "teacher in space" got her masters in education from Bowie State College (Maryland), an HBCU school.
Nah, if they're hurting that much to feel the need to "honor" someone who was not not only a failed student, but a failed civilized human being, perhaps they should rethink their mission.
This got me thinking of where I heard of this school before. Now I remember that his “girlfriend” Rachel was too dumb to get in with help;

I can find next to nothing about her since articles like this from mid 2014. Appears that the TDIT ( Trayvon Death Industry Tour ) got their wish that she would disappear down a memory hole.

Boy, ain’t that the truth. And I find it despicable. One thing in particular makes me despise the Dem Party and liberals. It is the fact that they continually make saints out of sinners, and idols out of murderers, terrorists and anarchists. That they always champion the scum of society rather then good, solid people that make this country work.
Liberals as they see it, are protecting the underdog, no matter how despicable that underdog is. All of these vermin are victims of society and capitalism, victims of circumstance, victims of outside forces beyond their control, always victims that need saving by the morally (and I use that word loosely) sanctimonious left. And thus they continually attempt to lower society to its lowest common denominator.
We must all suffer equally. In other words, the liberal left thus are the champion of socialism, fascism, and communism. All philosophies based on control of the masses, and policy-wise, most perpetuate evil, mayhem, destruction, and war. Their philosophies must be destroyed by all good people, torn down and discarded on the ash heap of history, if we are to survive as a free people.
Only time that little thug was flying was when he was on drugs.
