But after all that, what is your deductible?
Obamacare sucks, even for it’s cheerleaders: I have relatives who lost jobs and thus homes after supporting homobama and his homobamacare. Idjits!
At the end of the article it says they will also keep rising.
Trend will continue or even accelerate under “Ryancare/Trumpcare/Obamacare 2”. (less taxes to support it, subsidies to insurance companies eliminated, mandates still included = “death-spiral”).
>> In 2017, the average premium for a plan covering a family of four is more than $14,300 annually
I can’t afford my pre-Obamacare plan. Not only would the “Gold” plan offer less, but it would also cost $8k more @ $22k/year. And we lost our preferred hospital, our doctors, our pediatricians, our nearby labs, our nearby 24/7 clinics. Now I’m on the crappiest plan possible @ $15k/year. The deductibles are insane.
Obama and the Democrat Thug Party are lying, evil jackwagons.
I have repeatedly posted that THIS is almost by itself wrecking the U.S. economy.
The route to socialism is through requiring people to buy government stuff they can’t afford. Then the government can step in by subsidizing the mandates and making everyone dependent on them.
I’m in an area that Humana is leaving in 2018, so I have no idea by that time what options will be available, probably only one company and at a higher price than the current $800/mo I am paying.
I have looked into the Samaritan Ministries and suspect that may be what I do. (With the catastrophic option, to avoid a bankrupting illness is really the main function it serves, in my case.)
the one problem for the christian health sharing ministries is they are not tax deductible. I’m self employed which means I have to pay double the fica taxes. standard health insurance is fully deductible.
” (With the catastrophic option, to avoid a bankrupting illness is really the main function it serves, in my case.)”
I have that also.
I could do the economy a whole lot more good with that $900 a month more that I now pay for the same policy that cost me <$400/mo Pre-Obama.
I think of all the guns I could buy with that.
Get out. Go to a health share. I love Liberty Healthshare. I’d never fall for that insurance crap again.
When I researched it, the additional cost seemed quite reasonable for peace of mind.
December 2013, we were paying $970 a Month for two Adults with an HM0 Plan.
2014 = $1,200 a Month.
2015 = $1,500 a Month.
2016 = $1,800 a Month.
As of last January we are paying $2,000 a Month for the same HMO Coverage.
We don’t qualify for any Subsidies because we take too much money out of our dwindling IRA’s to pay our Healthcare Premiums and our Mortgage. It’s a Catch 22 situation.
Obamacare, it’s working like a charm.
We had 2K/mo premiums, 12k deductible and then they denied my husband somevery expensive medication he needed. Supposedly he wasn’t sick enough.
My husband changed jobs after getting denied the medication. The new insurance approved the medication.
[ Obamacare’s crushing cost to some families: 49 percent price hike since 2014, premiums of $14,300 ]
All according to plan.
damn!!
“When I researched it, the additional cost seemed quite reasonable for peace of mind.”
Same here. I think it is about an extra $50 / month. (or less?)
