Yes. Marshall Fields was an iconic Chicago establishment for decades. Just like a bunch of New York a--holes to blow into town, buy it and destroy the brand.

That started about 6 years ago. They started to look like a crappy K-mart.

That mixed with their holy than though political opinions, after I spend my 2 gift cards, I will never step foot in K-macy.

Grew up in Chicago. They are totally disgusting compared to Marshall Fields which they bought over. (Their ONLY saving grace is that they still sell Field’s Frango Mints. I’m chewin on one now. Love ‘em!)

The Macy’s in our area is very nice and well managed.

Interesting that Amazon’s Bezo’s Lie-Sheet is writing this article.

Macy’s is a useless chain. They have nothing you can’t get cheaper elsewhere.

Here in NJ that is happening as well; a mall that was packed when I was younger now has a tattoo parlor as one of the stores, and I’ve noticed that many of the kiosks in the walkways are now food/snack items instead of the real goods they used to sell. I’ve also noticed (probably because I rarely go to malls, so this really stood out) how few people are actually carrying bags of merchandise.
