John McCain on Comey firing: ‘There will be more shoes to drop’
WaPo ^ | 10 May 20173

President Trump’s sudden firing of FBI Director James B. Comey is bad for the country and will not be the end of the Trump-Russia affair, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told a group of foreign diplomats and experts Tuesday night.

Although McCain did not directly accuse the White House of firing Comey to thwart the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible Russia ties, he did say that if that was the intention, it would fail.

“This scandal is going to go on. I’ve seen it before,” McCain told a meeting of the Munich Security Conference core group. “This is a centipede. I guarantee you there will be more shoes to drop, I can just guarantee it. There’s just too much information that we don’t have that will be coming out.”

He called Trump’s actions against Comey “unprecedented” and said the position of FBI director has held special meaning in American public life dating back decades.

“I remember the Saturday Night Massacre,” McCain told the mostly European and American guests, referring to the 1973 incident when President Nixon fired the special prosecutor looking into the Watergate break-in, Archibald Cox.

“Probably the most respected individual in all of the American government is probably the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” McCain said. “I’m very sorry that this has happened.”

The event was off the record, but McCain gave me permission to place his comments on the record. He said that Trump had the legal basis to fire Comey but that his decision would have long-term negative consequences.

If there are more shoes (or anything else) to drop, I wish they would fall on McCain’s head.

And to think that Palin boosted his re-election just because he was her Good Ol’ Boy.

There's a lot more to it than that and I think you know that. Palin would still be a relative unknown or at most a senator from AK right now if bone head hadn't picked her. It jump started her career into what it is now along with her daughter's.

I do hope she now feels that debt has been paid though and going forward she simply says nothing for or against Mclame. Hopefully his mental illness will prevent him from being a senator soon. The sooner the better so a true conservative and not his RINO ass can fill that spot. We have one ready to go in AZ who ran against him last year.

McCain is a bigger threat to our nation than Russia. Neocons are intent on getting us into war. They are intentionally using this fake story to destroy Trump's ability to work with Russia in Syria because they support the terrorist. McMaster’s is a part of all this crap as well. He needs to go be fired along with several others in defense.

I wish that he was still a POW in Vietnam.

At least psychologically, he still is.

The VC broke McCain at his core, and he's been cross-wired ever since. Its why he seems to instinctively fight against his own.

I’ve been a long-time Palin fan, though disappointed with the professional direction she chose post-governor. But her whole career was based on fighting the good ol’ boy system, which is likewise nothing more than the good ol’ boys being loyal to the ones who helped them along.

Yes! And I would be so happy if a Chinese shipping container full of cheap shoes fell right on top of McStupid's pointy head.

We’re not going to be able to “work with Russia” on Syria- Russia’s only interested in controlling the port and having a monopoly on Europe’ access to energy so they can control European policy.
Russia was backing its allies Syria and Iran when their AQII and IRGC were blowing up US troops with IEDs. AQII [later known as ISIS and ISIL grew too big for its britches with money from running Iraqi oil through Syria WITH Assad’s assent] ...
And Russia’s still backing Iran’s nuclear program which is fully enmeshed with both Syrian and North Korean proliferation efforts.

Yeah, McCain, your precious ding-dong FBI was really “respected” at Ruby Ridge and Waco.

Keel over and croak, already.
