“nixon was about to b impeached righty or wrongly. The next few months he would have been paralyzed by the process. He resigned because he thought it was best for the country.”

Yeah, I’ve heard that a million times - that’s the way the story is always told.

But Clinton actually WAS impeached. He chose to tough it out and endure the impeachment. If he had resigned to avoid impeachment, what would his legacy be today? Clinton gets to enjoy half the country (democrats) thinking he was the best president ever - a political genius - an economic genius.

Then, years later after people find out what a witch he was married to, most people can’t blame him for getting it on the side.

Nixon, on the other hand, by resigning, sealed his fate - it was like pleading guilty to everything he was accused of.

Just sayin’

what you heard was true. I followed the house hearings. That’s why he resigned. I know what happened to clinton and that doesn’t change what happened to Nixon. The votes were in place and they gave him an opportunity to leave on his own.
I would like to hear your rendition of these historical facts.
