I’m hearing that Trump could not possibly fire Comey until after he finally got Sessions cleared through Congress and until Sessions got his sea legs under him.

It was reported that Obama had planted a few weeks before he left, that ridiculous rule for the Justice Department that forced the incoming AG, whoever he was going to be, to select his Deputy AG from this little pool of Obama people! Remember that? Trump had to immediately rescind that hog tie rule.

Sessions is eventually approved, the rule rescinded and he is freed finally to pick his Deputy AG. Sessions assigns the deputy to review the FBI cases and general state of affairs at the FBI, on APRIL 26th. Today was the result of that review and recommendation the deputy made to Sessions.

This deputy is widely respected and so is Sessions. It is doubtful, according to Brit Hume, that there will be a need for a Special Prosecutor, because the FBI investigators will continue their investigation the same as if Comey were still seated.... unless the Republicans join in with the Leftists to howl for one.

In the letter firing Comey, Trump says, "...thank you for letting me know on three separate occasions I am not under investigation."

This seems to have been directed by the deputy Attorney General. He was confirmed 94 - 4.
