President Trump announced ten federal judicial nominees today. All of them will sail through the Senate. All of them will fill seats stolen from President Obama. There are over 120 vacancies in the federal judiciary, and Obama had nominated people to fill 81 of them.
But by the end of his two terms, 59 of those nominees were still in limbo, because Mitch McConnell’s Senate confirmed only 22.
This week, ten new nominees were announced to take their seats—as promised, mostly conservative firebrands picked by the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society—with many more sure to come. The Republicans’ strategy of unprecedented obstructionism has, once again, paid off in spades. If you think Judge Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court seat was stolen, well, here’s 59 more of them.

Hopefully these judges will be unabashed judicial activists for conservative positions.
There lies the biggest problem we have on he judicial front. Conservative judges tend not to be activists. They attempt to interpret law in accordance to the Constitution and precedent. Leftist judges will declare the "law" to be whatever it is that they want it to be.
- liberals openly nominate and promote liberal activists to the bench who manufacture their own laws, while conservatives look for strict constructionists who simply try to maintain the status quo.
Yup. Sadly, there is no solution that is in line with Constitutional principles. If we appoint 'activist' conservatives, THe legal system will become even more of a joke and travesty than it already is.

I had my dad to teach me these things. (LBJ drove him to conservatism). He also gave me a subscription to NR when I was 14 in 1968. (NR had writers then like Russell Kirk, James Burnham, and Malcolm Muggeridge. Today it is shiite)
Filling these judgeships is almost more important than the Supreme Court, because most cases do not make it to the Supreme Court.

Don’t like Mitch McConnell either, however, without his courage, yes courage, we would have a whole different Supreme Court today.

There is a constitutional solution: impeach and remove activist judges. There is some judicial leeway, but if there is a pattern of decisions that are outside that leeway, remove the activist from office.
The volume and desperation of the screeching on this issue brings me nothing but pure, unadulterated joy.
The Left has, as its primary objective, the total control of our society - even of the thoughts in our minds (that’s what PC is intended to do). They are totalitarians. The only difference between them and Stalin and Mao is that Stalin and Mao had REAL power and the guts to use it to cement that power for the remainder of their lives.
Well, thank G-d (literally) for giving us Donald Trump as President. While this instrument of G-d is not perfect as a human being, he is doing G-d’s work by picking apart the Leftist machine. Trump is buying us lots of time...and, of course, it will be up to us how we as a nation use that time, that breather. Had Hillary been the POTUS, not one single person who genuinely respects the Constitution, the nature of our Republic and the separation of powers between the feds and the states would have been placed on the federal bench. We would be living the destruction of our nation and culture...and now we have SOME time to reverse course.
I think that these appointments also prove something: that Donald Trump is who he said that he is, and is also someone whose actions should not really be surprising. Anyone who has bothered to research and try to understand this guy would have EASILY found that he is, first and foremost, a patriot. He was raised by parents who loved this country and benefited from its culture AND its legal system. Further, anyone doing such research would have found that ANYONE involved in the commercial real estate business - where one’s horizon is always at least 10-20 years away - MUST have the ability to depend on the law being roughly the same in the future as it is now...otherwise, it is impossible to have confidence in any plans that you might make (and planning is the keystone of success in the real estate business).
Again, thank G-d for Donald Trump. I look forward to dozens of new judicial nominations that are on par with Gorsuch and those that he made yesterday.
Oh, and I am NOT tired of winning yet, nor do I think that I’ll EVER get tired of it.
Not my fav either, but he did the country a great service by keeping these appointments at bay.

Agreed. That would actually work, but our system is fundamentally incapable of such action. There is no way to quantify 'activism' in any meaningful and objective manner.
The legal system is broken in a fundamental manner in just about any way you care to mention.
