Wonder if any of these rifles are from the trainload of guns that just happened to get stolen while it was sitting in Chicago?
The recent shooting of undercover cops with rifles is more about motive.
These were targeted assassination attempts and the style of rifle is not important.
Cops need to go after the gangs, irrespective of armament.
Gang-bangers like Tattoos. Let’s give them all a free Tattoo....a bulls-eye on their forehead.
While it’s a bit bigger than the AR, my semi-auto 30’06 would be a ginormous step up on the power curve.
4. Put Harry Callahan on the force with his .44 Auto-Mag.
A trivia bit from Prohibition-era Chicago was that, other than pistols, the urban weapon of choice was the Thompson submachine gun. It worked well in an urban setting (.45 ACP with high rate of fire, and easily disassembled to take up a smaller area for concealment.)
However, when the city gangsters tried to move downstate into the rural crime territories, they soon learned that the submachine gun was far less effective than were shotguns.
But, into modern times, cities in urban decay, adding accurate high velocity rifles to the mix makes a great deal of sense. That is, a group can use a sniper both as security when both they and their enemies just carry pistols, and to attack their enemies at a considerable distance.
As a tactic, it is far superior to drive by shootings.
Any illegal is a non-uniformed enemy combatant and can be shot as a spy according to the Geneva Convention.
Fixed that part. The rest of your post was OK
Instead of saying ‘Rifle’ LieBeral Chicks in the Media are now saying ‘Long Guns’! Anyone else notice!?
—and in any case, the damage to “civilians” was minimal but the scurrilous media of the day (like now) headlined it into something and an unprincipled malAdministration passed the National Firearms Act-—
