What could go wrong?
The LA School System’s $1.3 Billion iPad Fiasco Comes to a Sad End
An iPad for every kid! It sounded like a good idea in 2013, but a $1.3 billion plan to supply Los Angeles schools with Apple tablets turned into a failure quagmire, with the school district asking for a refund.

You just know this will end badly.
You kids are all too modern for me, I drive an ‘84 Jetta.
The mayor of Sacramento is Darrell Steinberg. I still can’t believe this gigantic cockroach prick is mayor of Sacramento. 7 more months and I’m done with California.

Total insanity.
Its more than insanity, its just plain UNFAIR.
It almost makes me wonder why the hell I bothered working all of those years.

Unfair? Life ain’t ‘fair’.
How ‘bout just plain ol’ illegal and unconstitutional; take your pick on Amendment(s): 5th, 13th
Luckily, we can all still vote w/ our feet
My Honda Accord station wagon is from 1993. Some rust spots here and there, but when the battery isn’t dead, it’s a great car for those larger purchases. Not quite up to our neighbor’s truck’s hauling capabilities, but he’s nice enough to help us out when we buy a tree.
We got my son a used 97 Buick LeSabre - 100,000 on it. It’s been a good car. Old enough I still feel comfortable doing my own repairs on it. New struts, he hit a curb so a new bearing assembly, etc. When we got it we knew it was a good car but figured he wouldn’t like it being sort of an “old guy’s car”. He loves it!
I drive 80s cars and ride 80s motorcycles. No rust spots in this climate.
“...electric Kia Souls at public housing sites.”
“Wachu meen you don’t know wheres the gas goes at?”
“Just pur it downz into the trunk - thats whatz it means ifn’ they gotz junk in the trunk.”
Best that you didn’t ask them their opinion of Vladimir Putin. I don’t think they would be fans.
Not complaining (or even bragging), but I still drive my 1998 Chevy Silverado. Bought it new, and she still runs like a champ, though she does need a few things.
I am SO glad I'm no longer a California tax slave.
1998 Chevy Silverado, here. 200k on the clock, and still hauling.
This is just the intro to great comedy. Think of the possibilities!
“On-demand access”
WHOA!!
With their ZipGun??
I’m from Sac. I remember the Russian and Vietnamese gangs we’re all over the bad parts of town in the 80’s. I moved to Placer so I could get my concealed carry permit. Then I moved here. Fantastic weather in Tokyo today as we wind down the Golden Week holiday.
I drive a ‘91 Suburban.
We left Sacramento(EDH) 2 years ago due to the insanity of stuff like this.
The comments after the article are hilarious.
In the article they mention the “zip car” (I’m assuming the name Zip car is the company that is doing this for the state of California?) is actually a new 2017 Kia Soul Electric model which retails for around $32k
