The Trump administration has fired the White House chief usher — the first woman and second African-American to hold the nonpartisan position, according to a report.
The White House residence staff was told Friday morning that Angella Reid, appointed in 2011 by President Obama, had been canned, without offering an explanation, the Washington Post reported, citing a source.
“We are very grateful for her service and wish her the very best,” a White House official confirmed, declining to provide details.
Reid was only the third usher to be booted in more than a century — and the first since then-first lady Hillary Clinton canned an usher in 1994 for supposed disloyalty.
White House ushers are on duty 24/7, taking care of the first family’s needs and overseeing the staff, including chefs, florists, maids, butlers, chefs, carpenters and other workers who take care of the presidential residence.
The chief usher in particular works closely with the president and his family.
Reid had replaced the first African-American chief usher, Adm. Stephen W. Rochon, after he took a job at the Department of Homeland Security.

I think you probably hit on a possible reason... I don’t see Trump just firing someone but as anyone knows from watching the Apprentice he wont hesitate if he sees incompetence or someone who does not take responsibility for there actions or unjustly try’s to shift that responsibility. I can see a continuation of turning of the alarm by her office after it had already proven to be a bad security concern (i.e. the guy who jumped the wall 2 weeks ago)being the reason for the firing.

She wasn't fired because the position is not needed, she was fired because Trump did not want her. They want someone else in that position.
Yes, I have read about it and seen the video on YouTube about his white glove treatment...the one that had most people in awe of him on this site. So, yes, I would assume it was for cause and he will get someone who will work for him like it is the private sector...good luck with that.
