If Marine Le Pen wins, its almost certainly the end of the EU, experts say and that could bring economic and political turmoil unlike anything the West has seen in decades.
Forget Britains vote for Brexit. Forget U.S. President Donald Trumps November win. If Marine Le Pen somehow defeats Emmanuel Macron in Frances presidential runoff vote on Sunday, it may be the biggest electoral shock in the West so far this century.
A win by the leader of the French far right would see a leading European nation select a president emphatically opposed to globalization and integration, friendly to authoritarian Russia and tethered to a party, the National Front, that is steeped in a history of neo-fascism, extremism and bigotry. It could prefigure the dissolution of the European Union, trigger new economic chaos and hammer home the last nail in the coffin of an already ailing liberal order.
A Le Pen victory means the collapse of the EU, because the EU without France doesnt make any sense, Gerard Araud, Frances ambassador in Washington, said in a conversation with The Washington Post earlier this year. And it means the collapse of the euro and a financial crisis, which will have consequences throughout the world.
Its still an unlikely outcome.....

God save France. Nothing else can.
No, she has specifically said she does not practice Catholicism.
“No third time”
Yep - Sorry “Lafayette” - you’re on your own...
I have a French GF. She is the sweetest person I’ve ever met. She says it’s because she from Carcassonne in the South.
Too late.
I'm just waiting for the day they slash the Mona Lisa, destroy art representing the human form in the Louvre, blow out Notre Dame's rose window, and blast the base of the Eiffel Tower--all symbolic of the best in Western Civilization.
Is she? I know she got divorced after a year of marriage.
Carcassonne is beautiful. Been there. Personally I like Western France, Anjou, etc.
God forbid! I just cringed when I read what you wrote. Will the French let it go that far? Let's hope not. If they're going to act, they need to do so Now.
C'mon France, Fight for France! Vive la France!!
Offshore accounts in the Caymans etc. It's Boris and Natasha all over again. /s

Sadly, the French don’t seem to have the gumption of previous generations. Their socialism, political correctness, abandonment of Christianity, and decline of family have weakened them the way it has other western countries. Their country class has lost demographically to their ruling class and there is no going back. The increase in the Muslim percentage of their population will be the final blow..with no blow-back.
I ordered some French perfume off eBay—likely nothing good will be coming out of France, including my favorite classic perfumes. Honor killings, forced child marriages, mutilations of little girls...tourism will tank...
Now, just saw in The Sun they're planning big election day mayhem: KILL THE CANDIDATES ISIS makes sick call for French election day terror attacks and urges lone wolf jihadis to slaughter Le Pen and Macron
What about this do the French not get? I hope the Le Pen voters are fighting mad and come out in droves. They are fighting domestic enemies.
France, hearken back to the day of the The Maquis, the rural guerrilla bands of French Resistance fighters, called maquisards, during the Occupation of France in World War II. You are fighting a domestic enemy no different in threat level as the Nazis.
Once upon a time I knew a member of the Maquis. He was a true French patriot and a real fighter. The real men of France, rise up and save your country!
Fight! . . and Vote for Marine Le Pen Sunday!

"Want to let you know PM Valls is hosting a small roundtable (25-30 people) in Paris on October 16/17. It will begin with a dinner on Friday evening hosted by Emmanuel Macron (French Finance Minister) and the following day there will be two roundtable sessions:"
"Session one will address the challenges of economic globalization and technological development, and be focused on how progressives respond on policy front. Session two will evaluate how progressives develop a successful political and economic narrative to counter the right and populists to the left."
"They've asked for help bring some US people over, and are keen to get someone from HRC campaign engaged in possible. Is this something you might consider nominating a strategist or econ policy person to attend, or even attending yourself? Either Policy Network or Jean Jaures could cover travel and accommodation costs."
