That's not true at all.
I'm a black American with Scottish ancestry. When I lived in England, the Scots treated me like favored kin. It was actually kind of funny, as they all tried to claim me as their brother. They were extraordinarily kind to me, and I never forgot it.
I grew up in a town with five fish & chip restaurants and two pipe bands; your experience with Scots is very different than mine. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
