Yes there is money in the budget to repair and replace which became law under Bush in 2006. The wall that was shown at the press briefing today was already underway (in 2016) to replace a chain link fence and will be finished in 2017.

There is NO money to build any new fencing in areas where there is no existing fencing.

Replacement Fence being built.

Ah yes, the old repair existing fence stuff. There’s plenty of places where fencing existed in the 60s. Disappeared along the way, buried in sand or corroded or lost in some random rabbit stampede. ‘Bout time we replaced that existing disappeared fencing, don’tcha think? $300M for ‘repairs’ in less than 6 months? With a bucket more coming? We can do that! Thanks, Dems!

Sometimes one has to tap into the inner government lacky mindset to understand how to do some things. And set aside that logical, smart, by the numbers intelligent person for a moment. It can be difficult, and don’t get lost, but thinking abstractly like a Dem can be a lot of fun - especially when it’s used against Dems right in front of their turned-up noses.

Steady on, Deplorables. Skin that cat.
