Trump: US ‘Needs A Good Shutdown’

President Trump on Tuesday called for a "good shutdown" in September to fix the "mess” in government.

"The reason for the plan negotiated between the Republicans and Democrats is that we need 60 votes in the Senate which are not there! We … either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good "shutdown" in September to fix mess!" he wrote in a series of tweets.

Normally, a president’s proposed budget for the following year (fiscal 2018, starting October 1 this year) would be in Congress by now.

This is a resolution that completes fiscal 2017 and a new incoming president probably should not be expected to have much of a say.

Obama’s first budget request was for fiscal 2010, and had been unveiled by this point in his Administration. I don’t believe he got much say in the 2009 budget.

Read correctly, this says we accept his sell out last week, accept his sell out this week, and, yes, bend over and accept his sell out in September because we still will have a simple majority in the House and Senate. He'll then say vote more Republicans into the House and Senate because until there is 60%, a simple majority is meaningless.

The #NeverTrumpers are out in force. Trump is not a sellout. He must fight the Uniparty.

Morning FRiend. Wrote this on another thread. At the risk of being pedantic, I’ll just copy it here:

President Trump has already shown his hand on his intentions with the budget proposals brought to light.

He is not going to be business as usual. That’s not him. But he can’t take on every battle all at once or he risks losing everything and accomplishing nothing.

Why some folks can’t figure that out here is beyond me. They think the Executive can summon the UniParty and in one action have them come to heel. They have no intention of coming to heel. They intend to make President Trump answer to their call, business as usual.

President Trump had to let them win a hand but he’s looking to win the poker game and go all-in later at a time of his choosing.

September will be a battle royale like nothing we’ve seen in our lifetime. President Trump is going to make it clear who is with him and who’s against him. If you pay attention, you’ll notice it’s Republicans trying to undermine his agenda at every turn.

One man, one fight at the time of his bidding. Stay with it.

Hope you are right. I’ll say what a lot of folks want to say, I wish there was a way he could let us know that but not let the enemy republicans know that.

I suspect that the elites are going to crash the financial markets and remaining status quo from a budget perspective at this point in time avoids the appearance that the president or the GOP majorities had anything to do with that.

All or nothing will win President Trump... nothing.

Bamster was a failure outside of his phone, pen and ObamaCare.
Oh yeah, that’s a fail too.

I disagree, now is the perfect time for a government shutdown. The left will always make an emergency to panic the herd and fleece us of Liberty. Enough is enough!

Exactly, at this point 90% of his inner circle are Liberals
and it shows. We’ll probably keep the edge on the SC but that is all I see us getting at this point. Oh, and get ready for another betrayal on AGW and you car makers don’t count on any CAFE relief once the “review” is finished.

Take your own advice and read what he wrote. He said elect more senators in 2018 or end the filibuster now.

A shutdown now accomplishes nothing. The dems don’t care. They have nothing to lose. If you think Trump can convince them to defund planned parenthood you are delusional.

The dems would be ok with a government shutdown between now and the next election.

Right now tax payer’s money is being wasted on a Kabuki Theater on the Air Lines industry INSTEAD of giving us our Trump Tax Cuts!

Paul Ryan, RandPAC, every single damn Democrat, the Ted Cruz 2020 cult and all the losers in the Republican primaries, McCain, McConnell, their cheap labor, open borders oligarchy, the F Caucus, a bunch of neo-cons and “moderates”, half the Republicans, the NeverTrump, I AM SICK of ALL of them!

Sick of them all! They are all backstabbers of Trump, they know Americans care about their jobs and wallet and economy, and these backstabbers are trying to do everything and anything to sabotage the economy to try and hurt Trump and the agenda we elected him for.

Right now, as Paul Ryan tells us he is giving us better border security which gave the Democrats 1.1 Trillion Dollars and pays the entire Democrat agenda that will make all of our hopes and dreams now even MORE difficult - I hate Ryan now and his lies, instead of defunding Obamacare he and the NeverTrump Republicans sabotaging Trump are DEFUNDING the WALL! Instead of Repeal and Replace Obamacare they are plotting to Repeal and Replace Trump! They just FUNDED the Sanctuary Cities!

Ryan and the others including the Freedom Caucus and some other dopes who basically just want to stop Trump and DO NOTHING thus handing the Congress back to the Democrats, they pretend they are playing a Rubiks Cube difficult to solve but are just purposely doing NOTHING.

Give us the TAX CUTS and the economy will BOOM like nobody’s business! Ryan is a POS and now I am SICK OF ALL OF THEM both the Ryan dupes, the GOPe cheap labor open borders bastards, RandPAC, the Freedom Caucus, Ted Cruz 2020, I AM SICK OF ALL OF THEM!

Get to WORK and give us the TAX CUTS NOW! Stop trying to wreck the economic momentum along with Yellen the saboteur who is nothing but a Democratic Party operative trying to ruin the Trump momentum and economy.

I am sick of ALL of them. Every damn one of them. We want the TAX CUTS NOW to get the economy back on track. Screw Ryan and the rest, get to work and stop back stabbing Trump.

I agree... This isn't Trump's budget, that won't come until Sept. This is bami's budget, what budget there is, bami didn't want a budget, that's why since 2008 there wasn't one, he wanted money when he wanted it for his Muslim Bros. and for the Iran Deal and other things, with a budget you can't have that... When Sept. comes and President Trump has his budget ready to go, it will be done like he likes, or it will be shut down and will be until people yield...(Congress) ... We haven't seen the 'rage of the Lion' yet, but we are going to see it...

It is just that stark and just that Manichaean, Trump acts with integrity now or he is finished.

The only thing he has is the fact that his enemies, including GOP, are afraid of him. The moment they lose their fear of him, and that moment may be imminent, he becomes a figure-head.

We didn't choose him believing him to be perfect, we chose him believing he would fight. The moment people, his friends and enemies both, realize he isn't prepared to fight, it is over. They will slow-walk him and tie him down like Gulliver's Lilliputians.

We’re still in Obama’s fiscal yesr. Yes, the Democrats will always get hysterical over a GOP budget, but in this case *al* we’d hear is how Trump is getting ahead of himself and co-opting a budget he’s not supposed to be in charge of. [With a more even-handed press, it could be pointed out that the blame falls on Obama and Congress, for doing CRs instead of budgets. But we have a press whose bias borders on psychotic; they would rather die of aneurysms than give Trump anything approaching fairness.]

They’ll all get excited in Sept as well, but at that point it will be legally and unquestionably ***Trump’s*** budget. He will have far more (perceived) authority over his own fiscal year than he’d have been granted over Obama’s.

It might not seem crucial, but that’s only because we weren’t subjected to the screaming and screeching of the Democrats and MSM. They won’t be much happier in Sept, but at least they won’t be quite as apoplectic.
